Is it possible tor recast the hasbro head and remod the neck. What would be a good casting material that is soft enough to strip away and make him no neck. I was thinking recast in wax and then cut away un needed stuff then cast that head in hard resin unless there is a metallic resin/plastic.

but i think the neck with rivits might need to be a sleeve to go over neck of muscle bodies? if so ill need to make that and cast it in soft resin for fishing lures.

any thoughts guys I have an extra sculpt if someone thinks he would be a good candidate. im refering to the destro i bashed. If i get SSC equipment and modded the hasbro sculpt it could be a decent figure.

Um, no. With all due respect, these images make Sideshow's sculpt look like a masterpiece. The sculpt from a day ago in the threads is better. The one I said I liked before... (just imo of course).

I find it funny that people pay loads of money having heads repainted to look more lifelike but you all want Destros head to look just like the original ARAH sculpt... this scale needs more detail... the rivets on the Ex. head are a bit over the top & its a bit square... but im glad it not too plain.

As I said before, I think the Ex sculpt will work provided they don't jack up the depth of the eyes and keep him realistic looking. The Reg sculpt in my opinion is a total travesty and needs to be corrected and re-done. If I were the head of Sideshow I would halt production to make a new Reg sculpt. This would make him 1000 times better. I can deal with the sleeveless vest and coat but the Reg headsculpt is awful.

What sculpt i have been looking a day ago and all i saw was the mask i posted.

Oh, my bad. It was you that posted the mask with the Patrick Stewart photos. THAT is the mask that would look amazing if only Sideshow would use it. I really wish they would adjust the sculpt as I am probably skipping Destro at this point. He is not worth the funds imo with this Reg sculpt.

That sucks, but I kind of feel the same, I would have been happy with them doing a different version of Destro and including the classic head as one of the two heads, its almost like they just knew they couldn't do the ARAH Destro and they just decided to puncuate it by giving two random "metal" mask-heads. I'll buy it, but it won't porbbaly be until I get one deeply discounted.

I did a OG Destro when I first started sculpting, maybe I'll tackle it again. :dunno

I don't know how I'd go about painting it, but hey, I'll cross that bridge when the time comes.

Good point, I too would buy Destro at a steep discount. Really like CC and Baroness but Destro needs some serious work on the headsculpt. The only one that may work is the Ex but even that is lagging in some aspects.

I'd sculpt destro's head but I never did injection cast. I could sculpt it to look like the mask, it has minimal detail, you would think a sculptor on g.i.joe's side would have done him by now since the detail is not extreme. you guys know we can't leave SS to their own devices, this destro is are own undoing because they would have hired someone from the board if they did a decent one.

there is at least a dozen sculptors on are site that could not only do this head but also im sure could make a mask that could go on a blank head

Im sorry but that bashed Destro would look ridiculous on my cobra command shelf...

Thanks Im getting use to the insults i get on here i let it go in one ear and out the other. I let my haters be my motivators

i was mainly talking about the head!
it looks no more like the original Destro than either of the Sideshow ones due to that line of rivets down either sides of his thin face!
it has more in common with the terrible raised eyebrow sculpt from Sideshow.
the Ex. head has way more in common with the original card art.

If you look at the original figure he has a very defined ridge all the way round & his head is bulky & kinda squarish, very mask like, not just a head painted silver like in the cartoons. im basing my opinions on the original card art/figure, not the cartoon or comics which i think is why im happier with him than some people.

I have to say, the more I look at the comparison pics the more that I think Ross has a good point in relation to the original 3 3/4 Fig!

^^^I agree.

I'm in the minority however, I prefer the regular sculpt to the EX. That's not saying much and that's based on the few pics that are available; in-hand, who knows.

Before his debut, I really thought Sideshow might use something more along the lines of a tactical ballistic mask as a modern update for Destro.

the exclusive mask is just like the toy of 83

I wouldn't mind seeing the rivet lines go away on the regular Sculpt of Sideshow's Destro
