Wow Tony that modded MOS Superman looks great. At first I thought it looked a little stocky, but that's just because I'm comparing it to the too-tall unmodded HT standing next to it. His proportions seem more natural now, and will fit in with other 1/6 figures better this way. I absolutely love how flatly the cape drapes over his shoulders too---and that deep red---almost but not quite burgundy---looks like a much better match for the movie cape than the practically glowing bright red "Thor"-like cape that the figure comes with. Great work!

The S mod can't wait to see it. hope it doesn't involve the remaining collar too much since I hacked most of the top edge and back of the collar with my mod

Awesome! ! Loving how the new cape looks. Color looks perfect. Only mods left I want to do on mine is the cape and paint the black collar piece metallic blue to match the gauntlets I painted.

Inner Plastic remove tutorial (Part 1)
1. turn the figure around and cut open the suit (you can cut the plastic neck frame, it'll make this mod much easier, as I did in the next few pictures)

2. out goal is to take the inner plastic out and also make the collar lower close to the Superman symbol

3. cut it open with exacto knife


Inner Plastic remove tutorial (Part 2)
1. once the stitches is cut (half way is enough)

2. open the suit up, and you'll see the inner plastic is what make the trapezius bulky

3. pull the suit off slowly, and carefully (even if you mess up a bit, its okay, it can easily be covered up by the cape)

4. start taking the inner plastic off (it's only been glue onto the body at a few small area, once loosen the glue, its simple to be pulled out)


Outer collar remove tutorial (Part 3)
1. pull the outer neck collar frame off the suit slowly and carefully

2. measure where you would like the collar frame to set and draw a small lines across the collar bone area (then cut it across, but be sure to leave enough space to glue the collar frame back on)

*Also to be on the save side, be sure to crazy glue both seamline stitching, so the stitches wont fall apart

3. hand sew the back together

4. hallow out the collar frame


Inner Plastic remove tutorial (Part 4)
1. now you have a lower collar line

2. hand stitch the rear back together

3. crazy glue the collar frame back onto the suit (I did not glue the side, only the front)

4. and crazy glue the rear. Now you got a lower flat shoulder as shown in the Movie

1. Place the inner side of the cape at the cape insert section.

2. Put the tiny pins (pins provided) into both corners of the black frame.

Press the pins down into the soft rubber body for stability. (angle it downward to avoid pins sticking out of the suit)

3. Repeat step 2 on the other side.

4. Flip the cape over the neck, DONE.

Just a quick question. Do you push those pins that hold on the cape right into the body itself? Or just behind the suit?

OK, I think the hallow of the collar frame can be excuse as I found the collar is quite thin actually & it's looks awlful with an opening shown like that since collectors seeking for perfection.

the reason why I took the inner collar out and also hallow the outer collar was because I want the cape to sit as flat on his trapezius as possible. The outer collar has this fake plastic layer of the suit, that was not necessary to me nor does the suit need any more bulkiness. Then again, its really up to how far customizer want to go with all the work. I myself want to get as close to screen accurate as possible, but that also involve with risk of tearing the suits apart if don't know what we are doing.....

Close to being satisfied.
But seeing yours look as flat like that on the shoulder area, I think
Eventually, it will nag at me as I want the cape to be as flat as possible on the shoulders.
So, I'm gonna do your mod.

How hard was it to sew back together in the back? Also, when you say glue the seamline, did you just glue the seamline in front and back or did the sides come frayed as well from pulling the collar piece? It looks like the small tears in the suit (that will be covered by the cape) could become problematic over time.

I just glued the front and back for now since I wanted the collar to be wider and rounder around the neck......

I do have another question. Since you usually measure each cape to the figure to make sure each cape is accurate,
I'm not planning on doing the height mod as I'm fine with his height, will the cape still be touching the floor?

yes they well. I personally like the taller look. my cape is design for the stock height : )
