I think it's one massive kick in the nuts when we are teased with what we could have had (Zelu repaints) compared to the chimps they hire to paint my PAK figures.

I'm still stunned on how badly painted Liquid is. He looks like he's missing a few layers of skin after being burned.

What is highly annoying is while the MGS figures seem to be getting worse, the quality of some is getting better (FFVII:AC Vincent, the new FFX Tidus and Yuna in hand also look great)
It's pretty obvious that the price hike has come from the demand for the Solid and Ninja PAK figures, it shot them into the direction and price range they are headed, it's the least they could do really

Vincent is the top tier of quality currently by far.

MGS is technically their biggest license, I don't know why they wouldn't dump all resources into that. But they obviously are putting their worst painters to work on them.
I don't agree with that... I have been collecting Play Arts figures since they ever came out in 2003 (FF X-2) and I have to say that MGS Play Arts Kai have better quality than Final Fantasy Merchandise in Play Arts KAI series.
If you look at the previous realises of FF PAKs you will see that not only they were smaller and had less accessories but also had very bad quality. Dissidia Play Arts were all horrible and many had broken parts/quality issues. My FF XIII-2 both Serah and Lightning were broken out of the box (Lightning's arms, leg and feather thingy came off, Serah had a broken arm)
Advent Children PAK are a bit improved and I agree that Vincent is just awesome but both Yuffie and Rufus had quality control issues (2 left legs, broken parts and ****ty paint job) Lightning Returns PAK is another awesome figure BUT many quality control issues has been reported... As bad as the paint job is on MGS PAKs they don't have as many quality issues as other PAKs...
Kojima is looking after his products and Matsuzuka (Mad_Dog) is a very good friend of his so tries to keep the quality up for him...
The thing is that no matter what Square Enix will release FF fans will buy it as they don't want anyone to use their Final fantasy licences so Square Enix Products is the only company who makes FF merchandise - fans will always buy it, even with bad quality :/

Well most releases of MGS have been pretty bad to terrible. I just don't know how one figure can be so great and the next will be awful.
That is another thing with their quality control - some figures are good, some are acceptable but others are just bootleg quality 
With the new high price we should NOT have to worry about what we are getting... also Square Enix does not have very good customer service when it comes to defected products :///

The new MGS PAK do not have the overall same quality look as the new FF ones then is maybe a better way to put it
Considering Vincent came out before these, there shouldn't be any different in overall quality, given the QC errors some of you are going to bump into
Also both Rufus and Yuffie are better than Liquid and Raiden overall

Zelu I got Yuffie recently after Vincent
I don't have Rufus yet but I've seen him in my local FP. I have heard of Yuffie coming a bit Orange but i didn't know of the wrong limbs etc but things like that seem to be just unlucky cases and you can send them back for a replacement
I don't have Liquid or Raiden yet either so my points maybe moot, but judging by the photos they look better overall

I'm quite surprised by the negativity towards the MGS PAK, in anywhere other than paint.
Every single one of mine is well built and feel quality especially the new Raiden. Even the paint is great on mine.
My only non-MGS play arts is Deus ex and that was a horrible piece of srap

Same here, I didn't have any problems with MGS PAK and I can't say the same thing with other PAK series...

I have not many problems with my PAKs besides QC though I'll admit they could be better, a lot of them. The only one I hate with a passion is Man of Steel Superman black. Overpriced, bad point, bad likeness, no accessories and the cape is annoying. I wanna sell it but I doubt it'll sell well.
I don't think the hate with the MGS Paks is undeserved, there are some pretty bad flaws with them but they're still not terrible. I'm trying to hunt down a bunch for a reason >.>

Wow your final fantasy collection looks like my Metal Gear Solid collection I like the display very nice job.
I agree with Zombie, all the new ones have a better build for every new one that comes out, the paint is mostly my issue.

Zelu I just sent mine back to my retailer and they replaced it for me. I contacted Square Enix and that's actually what they told me to do
FF was my joint favourite with MGS growing up and I have all the original bandai figures and the play arts, along with some of the koto GF from VIII
Nice setup nonetheless, I really liked VIII as a game, characters were good I thought Squall was a dude
Back on topic tho, I don't dislike the mgs PAK at all I just think they dont look as good as they should, as others do. Like the ones I mentioned
It's not really about the build or even the paint but I mean the figure as a whole
The sleeve on liquid, the hs not really looking like him together with a bad paint job and weird scale all make the others better in their own right, at least in my opinion
