The Balrog with some environment for starters!

Do you want your JV painting Balrog with orange spray glow effect like Sauron was or just regular(black and with yellow-orange in between the cracks? If you want a sculpt just like the JV art then orange yellow spray will have to come with it

In the Sauron piece, the glow can work quite well if displayed with the right background and the right lighting. My Sauron is against a darkish red background with a spot from the bottom up, Weta's Barad Dur beside it and Jerry's print behind it. It works perfectly, its actually mesmerizing.

Regarding the Balrog, I think in the print the glow comes mostly from the Balrog itself. Now, the way to pass that to poly is up to the artistic interpretation of the sculptor and that's the interesting and fun part for both the artist and us collectors. Personally, what I would worry about with this piece would be SS's way to depict fire. I don't like the fire on the Balrog's back in the Balrog vs Gandalf dio and I don't like the fire sword of the Morgul Lord PF exclusive.

Anyway, if SS decides to make this piece IMO it should be epic, definitely large, no point in doing it again in the Daddy Rog scale, with some enviro on the base. It should be as ambitious as possible, it should create a feeling of awe to anyone who beholds it!

I've been saying that since day one.. It's all about the lighting/backdrop in regards to the Sauron ...unless it's displayed a certain way then it won't look good... Balrog included....if SS does it it will be the glassy orange fire..you can count on it... Weta would do it like the old way

I agree Adolfo, the problem is I can't see Weta doing a larger Balrog at the moment. I really hope I am proven wrong.

Where do you put the Coupon code?...cant find it at checkout...got up to the paypal part

FYI, if you were to use this code on the original Sauron canvas you could save almost $4K. :idea

Where is Jerry? Is the code issue fixed yet?

Sorry guys!

The sale has been extended to the 4th! There was a technical issue that only allowed the code to be used once, then it disappeared! You should see the area to enter the code VSS-2014 upon checkout in the payment area.
Sorry about that,

JV

Ok, I got it to work Jerry, thanks! Got my Epic Balrog gallery wrap and a Fellowship print. I got the print to see how much I like it in person as I may want to pick up the canvas set of them, but can't tell how much I will like them by the pics.

Also, about your commissions, do you paint any figures? My Balrog LSB could use a repaint to match better with your artwork now that they will be displayed together.

Thank you JV. When I get the Balrog and Fell Beast canvas gallery wraps up on the wall will proudly photo. Looking forward to the DOS and Smaug print

ordered the Legolas and Tauriel Canvases with the coupon. Will defn be getting matching frames. Since they aren't too big, hoping the price for the frames won't be too crazy. Prolly won't be able to afford a frame when I get the Epic Balrog.
