i saw this yesterday and the pacing is sooo much better than the first one.

Far superior to the first Hobbit film- really terrific action sequences, real excitement and amazing effects. The final with Smaug is astonishing stuff.....hope the next film can live up to this one!

Second viewing today.

Still love it. It actually flew by this time and I honestly felt it needed a couple more slow parts.

My friend hated the "Love triangle". I argued that it wasn't really a love triangle and barely a romance.

I watched it on 2D today, and It's beautiful. 48fps is a treat though and enjoy watching it in that as well.


Watching it today really got me thinking. How different was the story for the 2 parts.

I noticed in the trailers for DOS that they showed a scene of AZOG jumping up on this stone structure. After today's viewing I'm convinced that it was the Elven gate in Mirkwood.

Yeah, I think that got cut out and may be a scene we never see after the switch from 2-3 movies.
