I was in my early 20's when I got my first NES. Super Mario 3 just came out. 89-90ish??

My post was about people who are currently in the early twenties. Folks born in 1990 and whatnot talking about the good ol' days of the NES. It's possible that they got started at a very young age, but even if that's the case, it seems a bit unlikely to me that the NES would've been their first real console. I'm sure a few kids got NES hand-me-downs but still...

So many old people, EEEEEEWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!

33 and my first system was a colecovision. I then had a Sega Master System and eventually a NES. From there I had the Gameboy and then SNES. Never owned a Genesis or Sega CD. I had a Turbo Graphx 16 and 3D0. I've had every system then since. I feel like I've grown up with the industry. :rock

Damn. You were a lucky kid. I never knew anyone with a Turbo Graphx. 3DO either, though that wasnt too much of a loss.

I still have the colecovision with the atari 2600 add on. I then went to amstrad cpc464 and amiga before I hit the consoles.
My friend had the 3do and his cousin the cd-32

:lecture Sounds awesome. I had an Atari first then my dad bought "us" a colecovision. Later my parents got a NES for my birthday, and then my brother got a Master System for his birthday which is a month after mine. After that I bought pretty much everything that Nintendo and Sega put out. I wanted a 3DO, but it was too expensive at the time and when I finally saved enough money to get one I think the Sega Saturn was coming out so I bought that instead.

I think the N64 with Mario Kart and Goldeneye were some of the best gaming memories I had with my brother and my friends. The Xbox brought us Halo and the system link connectivity, and I remember having all of our friends bringing their systems, TVs, and we'd have 16 of us in the living room hooked up and having a blast.

Yes! I understand that.

After all the games I have played I must say that the N64 was a fantastic machine. What other console could survive with 2 launch titles? The N64 and Dreamcast are tied for my favorite systems. It was the innovation. Clearly now going back and playing those games would be not as much fun. But the memories at the time win me over with just how fun they were.

Indeed the N64 was great! Goldeneye, Ocarina of Time, Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64.

I just wonder... how did we manage to play split-screen multiplayer on those tiiiiiiiiny CRTs?

Myself, I started with the Atari 2600. Enduro, River Raid, Asteroids, Solar Fox, Defender, Pitfall... wow, those were great games.

I came late I guess, started with games such Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, I think (Windows 95 era), and those games at PS 1

This was my first console game (That didn't come with the console)

Not only that but with the uk n64, we had those massive black boarders. Used to annoy he hell out of me. The *** machine was full screen.

Goldeneye will always go down as one of the greats.

Regarded by many as the worst game ever made :)
I managed to bag a copy before 1000s were buried in the desert :yess:
