Put it this way, me favorite movie is Predator, I have the Dutch Premium format exclusive, a Predator 2 Bio which I bought 10 years ago, the Predator 2 Neca figure. Every Predator comic ever released, both movies on Blue Ray and a 1/6 scale Hot Toys Predator.

I'm not buying this purely because someone is completely taking the micky out of the fans here and it's time to draw the line.

That's exactly where they get you. They might as well have made it $1600 and it will still sell. They crossed a line with me on this one and as you can tell I'm a little bit bitter about it!!!! lol

You want to sell me a short speared , right angled dread lock predator with the standard one knee up pose and charge me more than a custom would cost? They are having a laugh.

personally, Ik I'm getting apocalypse for sure, and 90% on board with predator…my only question I guess would be to get hulk or not…the only reason I'm hesitating would be because I'm only purchasing it because I think it looks badass, and not because I'm some huge hulk fan, as Im not. So it becomes an issue of spending $600 on something I want vs something I need. I NEED the pred and apoc, not sure the GH is a need, if u get what I'm saying…thanks again for the input tho its much appreciated

From my experience, which is very little but still enough where I've lost a couple of NRDs...if you NEED Pred and Apoc, but aren't sure if Gladiator Hulk is a need, then you nix Hulk now and go with the first two. Hulk may still be around when you find some more money in 6 months or so! So if you're still debating him, revisit him then.

I find you can't go wrong if you get what you NEED. When something looks cool and you think, "Man, that'd be cool to have," then odds are it would be cool, but it isn't something you should break the bank on. I've cancelled a couple of "Man, that'd be cool!" and never regret it. Odds are if you ordered the two you NEED, then you'd find comfort in that and be able to see future pre-orders more clearly. Whether or not those two tap you out for 2014 is another thing...but if they're both needs, that shouldn't be a big deal, as that's an awesome year!

If they put a small ES on this it will be worth the asking price. If they make it some crazy huge number even I will hold off. That's how to kill incentive SS.

In my opinion, even a small edition size won't justify the price. The way I see it, a piece needs to be actually worth the asking price for me to pay it. Edition size (to me) has nothing to do with physical value.

If they only make 10... It's not worth asking price
If they make 10,000... Still not worth asking price

Just my opinion peeps

I agree, ES cannot justify a overpriced piece. The way to make it worth the asking price is to fix all the problems and knock the quality out of the park on the final product.

Theirs a reason why Lamborghini got away with charging 4 million dollars for the Veneno, because they only made 3 world wide.

Theirs a reason why the doom PF and Hulk PF sell for 2k. That reason is supply and demand.

If you believe this statue isn't worth the asking price even if they made 10 or even 100, then that's YOUR reasoning. Unfortunately, the rest of the world begs to differ.

Do you know they have a roadster version of that Lambo they made 9 of and they charge 4.7 Mil each, higher ES and higher price.

A great statue like Doom EX you spoke of is 2K, lets double the ES from 500 to 1000 and see how much it drops in value, I wager not much if any.

Take a statue like the predators maquettes, not very well done, but the EXs have even lower ESs than Doom and they don't even resell for retail, regardless of their low ES.

ES has an effect on an item no doubt, but it is just one of many factors in determining actual value.

Anyone moaning about price and ES, which hasn't even been revealed yet, wants to count themselves lucky that this isn't a LSF.
Call it a Maquette and charge $1,200 could of quite easily been call it a LSF and charge $2,000, without an ES.

You guys insist on making comparsions with top of the top class car manufacturers. I'm sorry but these two are very diferent animals. Sideshow makes average quality products in China. If Lambo or another top class car company would make products with the quality SS does, I can assure you they could not be asking 4 million for them, because nobody would pay for it. Whatever it is 3 or 300 made.


They put this price tag on this one because they know there are a lot of Predator fans out there waiting desperately for a new big sized predator statue, and this is the only way to get one right now. No more, no less.

It's almost like I was posting under a different name

I kinda wish the ex spear hand wasn't holding anything at all. That way if the spear looks goofy you could just go with an empty hand. The smart-disc is really cool...the rebreather not so much for permanent display.


Have they addressed the spear issue at all? Or are they just ignoring the feedback?

Pretty sure they will ignore it along with all other criticisms, SS really don't care what you or I think as long as the orders are coming in, which they are on this one. As for the hand, I assumed there was an empty hand also, the spear is nice of course, but the breather is a weird decision and I doubt many people would choose to display him with that. Empty hand would certainly be preferable, maybe someone could confirm that one...

Holding a cutting disc in one hand and spear in the other would look odd imo.
I like the way there is a cutting disc in the holder that must be removable when using the disc in hand option. Or does the disc in holder only come with the regular?
There is only one Ex picture that shows the empty disc holder...

Until the bubble bursts, With the QC/paint apps and ever rising prices I can't see it being long before the consumer wakes up! I'm still buying for now and love statues but I think my head will be turned when Hot Toys start knocking out 1/4 Preds.

That's only IF they scale them right. HT has a tendency to undersize their Preds.

But I'm with you, I hope they bang out a P1 soon.
