This figure looks great, but the body really sucks imo.. Mine can't even keep the weight of his own arm up without holding anything, let alone holding the mace or sword :/ Mine also came with some of the helmed spikes twisted in an L shape, luckily it's metal so I could just bend them the right way..

Ya... the body is a shock...
totally unexpected,
we are working on our own body now, hopefully we can fix it once and for all.

Love to hear it. Really looking forward to getting my Witch King from BBTS. Hope you guys provide them and other retailers with a fixed body.

Yeah, it's an impressive figure, and a lot of things were done really well. It's a shame about the body, but I want to thank ASMUS for actually listening to us collectors.

Mine should be here within the hour! :yess:
Hate to be this way but I'm getting a little miffed that it's taking so long to get this. AFAIK Alter Ego and BBTS are the only ones who have received their shipments. Nothing on Cotswolds page or War Toys about coming soon. Being as I got mine from Canada it will even take longer. I'm usually not a pessimist but it doesn't bode well to me that they missed their delivery date by so much.

Would also think that they would have started to give some teases on the next release after Gothmog. I know there is a lot of speculation on who is next but to actually see some images would be nice. I think it's a good way to keep the hype up. I think Gothmog is a cool character but just from the chatter I've been reading he doesn't seem to be a must have figure like The Witch King. For this line to succeed they need to keep the excitement going from release to release. If they go too long between releases this will be SST all over again. Rant off.

I'm really loving the overall figure, you guys did a great job! With the quality and attention to detail that was put into this release I'm sure it must have felt like a punch in the gut to get a shipment of less than perfect bodies for it. Still, those who love the scale and property will be very, very happy overall.

Just giving mine the once over. It looks really cool. Will try to set it up and give further thoughts soon.

Josh, did you see what I meant about ripping the extra sleeve section up a little more to expose the armor? So help me, if you just do that and give it a really good drenching, place it on the stand and futz the robes it will display really well.

Yeah, I think I saw how you were describing it. I might have you send me pics just to make sure. Water treating a figure makes me nervous for some reason.

Just do it. Nothing to be worried about here Josh. It dries quicker than you'd think and looks incredible afterwards.

BTW - I'm loving how Asmus is handling this whole situation here chiming in on the boards and telling people what is going on and how they are just as disappointed with the body as we are. Kudos to you guys for keeping your customers informed and aware. Many of the other companies just ignore us. It's a breath of fresh air to have a company actually listen to what we have to say about their products and reply in a classy, professional manner. Because of this, you can count me as a future customer Asmus.

My first thoughts are that this guy is amazing! Water treatment is a must, especially with the thickness of some of the robes - but the end result is worth it. I chose to fold/push the sleeves up rather than doing any cutting and it looks great. The only mod that I did was to sew the two hanging cloak pieces to the bottom opening of the hood on each side (as they should be). I took the helm off to fix the hood and man what a pain in the a$$ to remove it, and it was even worse to get it back on. I'll post some pics in a bit.

Here's hoping the replacement body is made available to those who DON'T buy gothmog. I say charge a nominal fee and shipping. I would be perfectly ok with that.

I would rather not be forced to buy a figure i wouldn't have bought otherwise.

So what's going on with this line as a whole. Saw pics of Gothmog and regular updates and then news went dark. I though Aragorn was going to be shown. Any other updates would be appreciated. I'm trying to decide whether to stick with this line.

A couple of tips:

(1) Be careful with the head/helm, it pops off real easy (and the weight of it doesn't help things)

(2) switching hands is a bit of a chore. I used needle-nose pliers to firmly grasp the wrist-ball while slowly pulling/turning the hands and that helped a lot.
