I haven't dealt with HLJ personally, but from what I've heard and read, cancelled pre-orders and poor packaging were the ones that came up the most.

Seriously? I pre-ordered from them, assuming they were reliable. What are the specific problems people have had?

I have exclusively ordered all of my Japanese Transformers from HLJ for the last 5 years and have never had a problem.

I heard of a couple very "vocal" Transformers collectors who had their MP Cassette orders cancelled when released, not because HLJ took too many pre orders but because Takara shorted HLJ on the stock they were supposed to receive.

HLJ is very reliable.

Hmmm..still sitting on a fence about Sideswipe MP12 G2. He looks amusing, but perhaps I should pass since tehre are lots of MP preoders I made, and then there are bumble and wheeljack coming. Hopefully 2014 there will be Megatron V2 as well.

The spiky wheels, pissed off face, and big ol guns are pretty awesome. Definitely giving off an early 1990s vibe appropriate to G2, when comics were ruled by Rob Liefeld and Todd McFarlane.

Now there's a better picture of him I think Ratbat looks OK but I'm not going to bother paying £120-£150 just for a tape I have little to no nostalgia for.

G2 Sideswipe looks excellent, I wasn't previously aware of the new face sculpt but it's a nice touch that will help it stand out that bit more from the other uses of the mold.

Yes.

A sneaky move by Takara but it was always likely as they'd otherwise have trouble selling Soundblaster.

Same here. I'm just thankful they didn't do this with Rumble (the blue guy ) or else I might have to actually buy just for the tape. Still, Ratbat would be cool to have.

Thanks! So does the Takara version have metal that the Hasbro version doesn't? Main differences look to be the eyes, and the blue paint being a bit lighter on the Hasbro version.

Supposedly there is some metal on the Takara version's feet/legs? I had both in hand at the same time, and couldn't tell much of a difference.

Curious, how come they're gonna be releasing a repaint of this guy? Was there an older figure they're tryna resemble? I can't really remember but did his colour scheme change throughout the cartoons to black, dark blue? from the usual standard blue. Thanks.

Also, are you new as far as collecting TF's? Not trying to be a smart-*** or anything, but Soundwave usually always get the black Soundblaster repaint, I'm guessing you've never noticed?
