Re: Man of Steel 2 (Superman/Batman--Official title to be confirmed)

The *****ing about Affleck's casting on some of the other boards is immense haha.
I seem to recall all the screaming that accompanied Heath Ledger's casting as the Joker too. People need to get a god damn grip.
I for one am quietly confident in this casting choice.

Yes, I have seen that as well. Everyone is freaking the F__ OUT!

Seriously, people are losing their crap over this, facebook is getting really out of hand with the insults and the cursing :lol:lol:lol:lol

Re: Man of Steel 2 (Superman/Batman--Official title to be confirmed)

And so begins round 2 of yet another freak out of a cast in the Batman world.

Let's not forget the "wonderful" reaction of all the fans to Heath playing Joker. Gotta give Ben the benefit of the doubt.

So... this means Matt Damon as Joker and Jennifer Garner as Batmangirl?

I can't put my finger on why, but I have always hated Ben Affleck. Can't even stand the sight of him. Gonna have to try and get over it I guess...

Re: Man of Steel 2 (Superman/Batman--Official title to be confirmed)

Damn, I had no idea there was that kind of resistance to Heath as Joker, at the time. Have to say, I don't care for the idea of Affleck as Batman as his acting in Daredevil really taints my opinion (even though I've enjoyed his acting in other movies). I think that screen grab should give anyone pause, though.

Another thing I just thought of. I generally hate Nic Cage but he did a fantastic job in Kick *** (I also thought Matt Damon could never portray a credible action movie star until I saw The Bourne Identity)... You never know. Affleck could surprise in the role.

Heh, that says it all really. Of course, all those same hypocrites are the ones saying how amazing he was, and that they never doubted him for a second haha. That should be posted on every single Batman message board.

I don't know, it's kinda cool in retrospect. If all those people ended-up coming around after they saw Ledger's performance, they should be commended and not ridiculed, IMO. What's important to me about reading it, is it does illustrate very clearly that one shouldn't jump to conclusions. Another great example is Breaking Bad. The executives had a real hard time accepting Cranston after his role in Malcolm in the Middle and no wonder. It's not that they're all stupid, they were just operating under a false set of assumptions. Same may be true here. Looking forward to seeing what pans out.
