Mine shipped from US to indonesia and i really hope there was no damage included. But if there is any damage i would rather repaint it . Better than no batmobile at all.

Oh I'm sure the '66 Batmobile will open up a whole new can of worms.

Doesn't the matte finish on this make it more susceptible to surface scratches? If the '66 Batmobile is finished with a glossy clear coat it shouldn't suffer the same as this one.

There are any number of hypothetical issues that could potentially occur and we can't predict the future but given Hot Toys' track record we can reasonable expect there will be issues with those too.

I am not sensing much joy with this product, even from the people who have mint ones. Is it really worth the money? I'm thinking about cancelling and applying the funds to the 66 car, barring any problems with that one.

Go back further.

Since the first scratch was discovered, this thread has become dedicated to full coverage of scratches.

But before that? It was a full-on lovefest!! People were at a loss for words how to express how amazing the toy was. Hands down toy of the year, most incredible collectable ever seen, etc.

Do scratches suck? Yes. Scratches suck. Scratches suck on a $20 toy, let alone a $700 toy.

But I agree...where is the joy?? The first people that got these were blown away. Now there isn't even a sentence or two about the majesty of the unboxing...just "yeah it's scratched...I hate it." or "Mine is mint, life is good!"

We've waited almost 2 years for this thing since it was announced and now people are "dreading" it arriving or even flat-out canceling...cause of Scratchgate 2013.

Well it's pretty much a kick in the nuts to anyone who waited 2 years and received a damaged item. That's just unacceptable. Do I think it's Toy of the Year? Yes. Absolutely. But I feel gutted knowing I paid $700 for a Batmobile that has flaws that shouldn't be there and there's nothing that can be done about it. No partial credit or full refund is gonna bring back the joy of having a perfect Batmobile.

Guys isn't there some kind of scratch repair for plastic ? Like maybe some Lens scratch remover for eye glasses or even a DVD? Or car wax idk :dunno Lets not just surrender. If they're not gonna replace these, we gotta rely on the community to figure this out. Some one has a solution. Lets really think about this.

I would be very cautious about trying to repair scratches on this. It's not raw plastic, it has a thick vinyl layer of paint over the entire shell,
if you remove any of this paint you could end up with a right mess.

The only real solution that I can see for scratches would be to repair and sand the scratches then repaint the entire shell. A big number.
Scuffs in the paint could be buffed a bit, they key to remember here is that you are not dealing with a raw surface which can be taken back and resurfaced. The paint layer will make that very very tricky.

Having to respray a collectible of this value is ridiculous.

$80-$100 from SS? Not ****ing worth it IMO. This is just too much real estate, both in value and size for you to look at it everyday and feel anything but pleasure.

Other than that single 2" scratch, it is flawless.

Damn, so close.

But one can't be almost pregnant, damage is damage.

It is as impressive as I had imagined.

Same here.

I'm so bummed that my wife even offered to have sex.

Now you know how bummed I am. :lol

Damn, life DiFabio had previously said, once you've seen the scratch, it can't be unseen.

:( Sorry to hear that man.
I would send the ****er back personally. You are going to be looking at the damn thing for the next 20 years.

And I hope you took your wife up on her offer, so it's not all bad.
:lol

The year aint ending yet, theres still plenty of time for "toy/figure of the year":monkey3

Really feel sorry for guys with scratches batmobile , I would seek full refund if I will you. There should not be any thought of doing repair on this expensive item.. My friend and I we are still waiting for ours most properly early Aug but now I'm seriously thinking of inspecting it in the shop.

Little red dot

posted in the damage thread but ill post them here too

Cocoon film was pretty dinged up to the point it was all the way through in several spots, but I really don't care too much about that, it will sit in the box.

All foam was in place along with the canopy straps.

Batmobile was almost perfect except for the following, sorry for the crappy pics

How is it that we both have the exact same damage in the exact same spot going the exact same direction, so weird.

try a rubbing compound maybe ? is the damage clearly visible on a normal light ? or is it under harsh light ?

Man, days prior to this release this board was filled with excitement and hype, and now one is even scared to open that huuuuge box to see if this thing has any damage. Even the whole $100 S/H debate has totally disappeared form the conversation. We should be talking about how damn amazing this looks and overshadows everything in our collections, but now we even have a poll to state if ours arrived damaged or not.
Damn you HT, damn you. I'm so pissed its not even funny. I hope mine arrives defect free and I'm truly sorry to hear about what some of you are going through with this...

Question....I ordered on EBay. Is there anything I can do if mine arrives damaged? Or am I SOL?

The EBay seller is local (New York).

I'm freaking out!!!!!

You should be ok. You can always file a dispute and Paypal will sort if out as long as you return it. You will cover S/H costs though.
I really feel bad about most US sellers on eBay who are basically going to go through hell with this item....
