I got my head/outfit set today, and put him together on an old-school Truetype with the Enterbay hands. Didn't use the leg extenders, because the pants seem to fit well on this one as-is, and they weren't all that different in height based on what I can tell (even if it was more QT trying to create that illusion than reality), so I'm cool with it. I'm really digging it myself, and think the body is a big reason. That EB body is just way to chunky for my liking. Makes him look like an NFL linebacker.

And the cup is such a fantastic accessory. Gives him some real personality. I'm really glad he added it to all the sets.

And on this body, I actually had to pull the collar up to show less neck.

This is the money shot....mmmmm sprite...:clap:clap:clap

The enterbay hand seems to hold the cup very well.

I think the Churchill shoes(leather-like) would work as well.
They look pretty nice from DID.

Ike, this isn’t meant to fight with you but I think that you need to see other people's perspective. Very few here are looking to build the figures up and use RM's painted heads. For those who like to do that and that's part of the hobby for them then that's great. But please understand that there is another group of collectors here that are in for full sets for a reason. That group anxiously waits for the next release, as we are all anxiously waiting for the first WIPs of Bickle.

Try to consider that the full set folks are in it for all the minute accurate details that you can only get with a high end custom set. Not only are we anxiously waiting on an offering of a character that is meaningful to us but most times it's a character that is not widely accessible elsewhere, has never been done before, or may never be done again. Naturally those people are going to have higher expectations then the guys who are looking to DIY with unpainted/painted heads.

You’re talking about two different types of collectors with different focuses and different needs. So consider that there are people who are looking for something different than you instead of thinking that folks shouldn't have high expectations. The "buy or don't buy" pill is much tougher to swallow for the picker collectors than it is for the guy who has a slew of head sculpt options out there and whatever satisfies them in parts from eBay.

It's like Jekyll & Hyde in here.....again. :lol:rotfl:lol:rotfl

Everyone knew there were issues, everyone said it wasn't a
$800 set, yet lots bought the full set instead of just a painted
head and making their own.

Reflecting what some others said: its still the best PF set made.

The foresight was there, the actions were not.

Why? :dunno

And even if you're not good at making your own figure,
certainly, there are customizers on here(which we already know)
that can do a fine job in making things for Vince & Jules for less
than what the RM FS figure was for.

So again...why?

I guess, I just don't get it and I'm sure people won't like
me saying this next part.

RM was given the beatdown, over and over.
So what do you think happens when you beat the wil out of an artist?
They give up, so guess what, you get ****ty shoes.

So I think everyone should really give him twice the beatdown on Bickle
and see what happens. Because it worked so well on the PF figures.

If anything, we've proved without a doubt, that there needs
to be a middle man that people voice their information and dislikes
to, that can translate things in a non-abrasive way to RM so this
****-fest doesn't happen again..

Yes, some of the blame is on RM, but also on us.
And if you really step back and take a look at what happened here.
I think you would have to agree.

There is no sympathy when you're paying $800+ dollars for a figure.

Its not personal its strictly business.

The kick-in-the-pants from us fans (and we are his fans) should be used as rocket fuel. This whole thing about being butt-hurt, quitting, and resulting in ****ty shoes is unacceptable way of thinking.

Not all of us are living with Mom/Dad (Not directing this at you) sitting behind a computer all day and buying these figures with their money. A lot of us are working the grind to make this money, and when we allocate some of it for a $800 figure its natural to expect the very best!

Will Bickle fans reap the benefits from the PF bashing or will this be a continuation of his last two projects?

I believe it will be the first one. That Harrow figure is Nucking Futs!
Thats the reaction every fan expects from all his releases. As unreasonable as that may sound its the truth and we all know he has the capability to do this with each and every figure he releases. Its all about eliminating distractions and focusing at the task at hand.

C'mon Rainman lets get it!

Good thinking, well said & nice timing :lol

Yup there's not a world of people out there who are dying to drop $800+ on a figure. It's safe to say that the large majority of his supporters are right here on this board. This is a super small circle. The relationship with him and the fans is a two way street

So I received my full set a few days ago, but due to work sched and newborn I haven't had the time I wanted to mess around with Jules. I've been mostly on this thread and soaking in all the reviews until I've had a chance to really get into this figure myself.

I'm not gonna bore you with everything everyone has been saying...but overall I'm very happy with him...I've only had the chance to walk past my Detolf on my way to work and on my arrival...and this figure really stands out...especially when paired with Vince...I don't know if its the angle I have him in but his body proportions fit Sam Jackson's in PF...now I agree...the ENTERBAY body is terrible...TERRIBLE...my torso snaps forward...literally took me an hour to get his torso to stay upward...the arms are a nightmare and the legs don't let u pose freely...but the suit, the sculp, the gold ring (which by way...being a small item really stands out) are flawless IMO...could the HS been more thinner? Yes...but still his interpretation and a pretty good one if u ask me...again I'm just picturing this bad boy with Robbie's Suitcase...and for a couple of dudes in black suits...they are carrying their weight in the Detolf next to Bill...not Bill territory by any means...but definitely not a miss like most are claiming...again my opinion...nothing more. Enjoy the art fellas! :duff
(No comment on the shoes :lol )

Still haven't messed with it...only added ring and moved neck around

I agree these two figures together look very iconic on the shelf.

That got me thinking - whatever happened to his initial buyers/fans, the koreans? Surely some of them still buys from him?

I'm sure that not EVERY last one of his customers are on this board but based on the way the most recent sale played out, I'm assuming most are. There are several other things that make me think that too.

If most weren't, he wouldn't be here; he always does a character with a western culture influence and most of those character choices were born right here....

I think it's safe to say that we're a healthy chunk of his following.

I have to say the same that most others are saying. When you set the shortcomings and disappointments to the side, and give him a fair shake with a positive attitude, he's really pretty cool :)

There's really no way for me to say that this doesn't feel like a Rainman fig. Yes, we all know that some components of the set don't live up to the standard, but the second I opened the box I can't say that I was so underwhelmed like others were (but I had the same feeling about Vince. I really dug him straight out of the box).

Yes, I don't like the body or proportions, yes, I'm fairly disappointed with the wallet in hand, YES THESE FRIGIN' SHOES... well... you know. But despite everything, when I revisited him last night with a clear head I couldn't help but to crack a smile the second I opened the box. It’s impossible to say that he’s not all charm and not all Rainman.

After digging in it's hard not to like this guy. The gun, jewels and drink are awesome. Of course the dork clothes look great but they are just such a hard build. They’re here now and I'm gonna do my best to build up dork versions to a Rainman fig standard.

I didn’t swap the body yet but I can tell already my biggest fear came true. The suit looks to be just too big after being fit for the EB. I was hoping that we were going to end up with a proper skinny a$$ lanky Jules, but there’s no turning back with the suit. Luckily I have a ton of different bodies and I’m sure I’ll find something (most probably the 01)that I’ll like better than this EB, but I’ll never get that exact physique that I was hoping for.

He looks great with Vinny and they’re keepers. Growing on me by the hour :)

:lecture:exactly: A lot of people here seem to think that being an 'artist' means that customers should be satisfied with below-par work. RM is as much a businessman as an artist. As well, full-set fans shouldn't be satisfied with 'the best PF pair on the market' when, for nearly two thousand dollars, they should be getting the definitive product.

Agreed. That's why I never understand this mentality that some guys have of our relationship with RM. They think it's this one sided thing where we're the privileged ones who may be lucky enough to throw $850 his way. Despite what people think I highly doubt that RM likes the “don't like it don't buy it” theory. He wants us to like; he needs us to buy.

Any chance you can show which Enterbay hand you used to achieve this? Did you have to mod it at all? I have the H&C set so I'm kinda hoping to know which hand to hunt down. That said... my right gun holding hand had to be cut with a knife to slip the ring onto his pinky.

That's one of the hands that came with the "Agent J" figure. I'm pretty sure it's the closest it has to a "relaxed" left hand. I think stock EB gun hand also has to be cut to get the ring on.

Not sour grape mentality here I promise, but I've always aimed only at H+C sets and have always been pleased for what I got for the price. PF lines are no different. I have Anton, Doc H, Vince, and Jules, and for roughly 450 a pop, I feel that I got my money's worth. Putting them together is fun too because I would have stripped a FS figure down anyways to tape down shirts, change bodies (if needed), and etc. anyways.

Haven't put Jules together for wife evasion reasons but I looked at the parts and pieces closely and I think they look great...

obviously a lot of us here are disappointed, but I still feel vincent is actually great, and i replaced his shirt with a spare Kato white shirt which subtly adds an element of quality. Having the pair together, im still very happy and proud to own these figures from one of my favorite films. Jules could have been better, but overall these are still two first class figures. Can't wait for Robbies case to top it all off.

so.. whos gonna be the first one to send these to Elvis for the bloody treatment...

Starting messing around with this figure. That sculpt was meant for the beach clothes. I got the beach clothes on the enterbay body, chain and jewels and cheapo shoes just because.....CRAZY!

I still have my beefs with this release, but beach clothed is the move. Brings out the sculpt 1000x more!

Mags dont sleep! Surfs up

Nice shots chilipep!

I'm undecided if I like Aeon's straight eyes more than RM's eyes looking up.

Alright, no more procrastinating. Time to body swap and get some real shoes on this dude
