Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

The logo is based on the logo from Miller's Dark Knight Returns, as Snyder stated that is the inspiration for the story they're working on for this film.

Also, apparently I'm the only one who doesn't think it'll be that hard to top Christian Bale. Yes, he was good, his Bruce Wayne and "attitude" in portraying Batman was awesome, but as soon as he starts talking . . . :gah

I'm hoping they go back to Armie Hammer, since he already had the role once.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Bale so I'm not too worried. My guess is the suit will look close to new 52 design since supes did.

But doesn't the New 52 Bat suit look like it was inspired by TDK suit?

Maybe in that its armored. I mean the grey and black look with no undies on the outside

Not at all. The New 52 suit is still a light gray bodysuit with a black cowl cape. It's just got different lines/textures than the typical comic suit. It may have some armored qualities, but it's probably the closest of the New 52 outfits to the regular versions.

Obviously you haven't seen the Lone Ranger yet.....:monkey4

I haven't, but based on the trailers it doesn't look like he has much to work with.

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I don't think the Bat symbol is that bad looking. To me, the look of it says less realism and more fantastical and it has to be that way to fit into the MOS universe.

The symbol isn't as sharp and sleek as the Burton and Nolan symbols but I don't think it's awful. Just have to get used to it.

Even then, that might not be the symbol they go with or even the one that Batman has on his chest.

:exactly::lecture

It looks alot like the logo worn on Batman's chest in The Dark Knight Returns.

Script was obviously awful, but after that performance I just can't look at him as a serious actor anymore.

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

People said the same thing about Keaton before Bale filled the boots and look how well he turned out in the role. I'm not sure why fans always do this? They're always so quick to write off someone new because they have familiarity issues.

I'm sure the next Batman will be fine once an actor is announced, concept art, designs are revealed and a trailer pops up.

Its people's opinions and I was never into Keaton's batman.

I liked how he disguised his voice. Its silly to me that all superman needs to do is put on glasses and no one knows who he is.

I guess we will all have to see whats to come. Hopefully they cast well.

Oh, I'm all for him disguising his voice. And I'll even retract a bit and say that it wasn't so bad in Batman Begins. But he cranked it up in TDK and it was ridiculous, to the point where he couldn't even finish a short sentence without stopping to take a breath. They seemed to back it off a tad for TDKR, but for me it was still a little much.

The best voice for Batman so far to me has been TAS. Enough of a difference between Wayne and Batman that it's not obviously the same dude, but it's not changed to the point where he sounds goofy.

Depending on how it's done, I wouldn't be totally opposed to some sort of voice changing solution done via his suit. Not to where he sounds like Robocop or Darth Vader or anything like that, but just something that scrambles it up a bit.

Oh yeah . . . really can't wait for this Hot Toys Superman :D

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Yeah, Batman's voice in Dark Knight and TDKR is way too over the top it's laughable. WHERRRRZ DA TRIGGERZZZZZZZ, over and over again.

I love the Bale Bruce/Batman but hopefully the next actor tones it down. I wouldn't mind a calmer and more collected voice like Keaton or Conroy.

Was there even a logical reason for the puberty voice? :dunno

He's voice was fine in Begins, no idea why he had to make it sound more ridiculous over the course of the 2 films that followed.

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

A new Batman actor will come and people will forget about Bale, who was seriously overrated. This movie is going to great! Goodbye to the Nolanites, we get the movie we've finally been waiting for

Re: Hot Toys MMS200 - Man of Steel: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I think the voice thing was done to give this version of Batman a more intimidating feel. i liked the voice most of the time and it made sense for the kind of Batman Nolan gave us. I like Keaton's Batman and Conroy's Batman but their Batman voices were far from scary/intimidating.

Bale wasn't overrated, he did an excellent job playing Bruce/Batman. Personally, i won't forget about his role as Batman. I consider Nolan's Batman trilogy as an instant classic and will definitely hold for years to come.

Except Nolan is still an executive producer and the writer of his three Batman films will be writing this new movie. Sure, there's going to be a new actor to portray Batman and he'll be a little different from the last franchise, but it's not like this is an entire new team bringing us a totally new vision. Hell, Nolan's Batman was set in a grounded, realistic universe. Man of Steel was also set in a realistic universe. So I'm not really sure how much wiggle room this new Batman is going to have to really stand apart from what came before.

So with all that being said, what exactly makes you think this is the film you and others have been waiting for?

I like Keaton's Batman and Conroy's Batman but their Batman voices were far from scary/intimidating.

I don't know, just the image of them and that calm, unnerving whisper was more intimidating than yelling at the top of your lungs like a child.

"I want you to do me a favor, I want you to tell all your friends about me." > "WHERE IZZZZ THE TRIGGER"
