BTAS never did anything for me, but I respect it's execution and style.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, and I mean no disrespect to yours... But man- That show is still tops for me 20 years later. It is pretty much perfect in my eyes.

It always seemed like a good show but honestly if I'm ever in the mood for a dark Batman with the Elfman score I guess I'd just rather watch the Burton movies.

Well I can't fault you for that... :duff

I still end up saving money with BBTS because I ordered it at $579.99. I like that the email encourages you to not leave it in the pile of loot.

i didn't understand that either? i have a few items in my pile of loot that i was going to ship when the 89 batmobile came in. but with BBTS stressing that they couldn't find a big enough box to fit the car, surely they wont ship anything with the car? making the pile of loot feature a pile of ......crap?..........right?

No you still save money on the shipping when you bundle the OTHER items in your pile of loot together.

The Batmobile is just too big to be bundled with anything else, so no matter what, you have to pay for its shipping separately, even if it is in your pile of loot.

I always thought it was a weird thing. Reminded me of a weird small freight train.

It seems like they had to both narrow and increase the height on the central part in order to achieve the look they were going for. Furst obviously never had that function in mind when he designed it but for what Burton was able to pull of for a few seconds it worked. Of course if HT wanted to pursue it I'd never say never.

It looks so stupid.

And was.

Also BTAS came out when I was in college and as far as TV entertainment goes me and my circle of friends were obsessed with NBA Jam, Street Fighter II, and Seinfeld at the time. I did see some guys watching BTAS pretty regularly though in our dorm's lounge and it seemed cool whenever I stopped to take a look.

Batman: The Animated Series is the best. :lecture

BTAS should be the inspiration for the Batman reboot. It is excellent. Dark and gritty but allows for Batman's entire rogues gallery to be used.

Yeah and I think that's what bothers me about it. I think they should have just had the sides simply come off without altering the whole shape of the center part. It didn't really need to be that narrow for the scene. They could have designed the alley to be a little wider and it still would have been too narrow for the cop cars to keep up the chase.

The shape of the screen used Batmobile-to-batmissle model is so warped and inaccurate to the real car because of this...and for what? :dunno

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Is anyone else flip flopping on this like every hour? I want it but I want other stuff too and with SDCC coming up.. I have it reserved at the moment and got it for a discount at bbts so I know if I cancel that's it. I'll never get it that cheap again. Which means I'd never get it. It is the best batmobile but it takes up so much space and I am concerned about it looking too plastic/toy like. Plus it is a huge pricetag even with the discount. Anyone in the same boat still at this late point in the game?

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

hell yeah!

the price scares me to death i all honesty(BBTS $579.00 + $84.00). but i also think if i don't get it i'm going to regret it.

I am in the same boat. I don't have a batman yet but I will probably get a Returns Keaton or an Arkham City Bats when HT does them and without the Batmobile next to them (especially Keats) it would seem incomplete. I also primarily collect star wars and want the upcoming tauntaun and I am just thinking that if I pass on the batmobile I could get a 1/4 Tarkin, 1/6 catwoman, and 1/6 sideshow vader for the price of just the batmobile. This thing better be Great for that pricetag. I am just so back and forth on it. I feel like Two-Face.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

i passed on a few DKR hot toys figures to in order to justify this purchase. A bit like you i only purchased the keaton figure in order to display him with the batmobile, as you say incomplete otherwise

I am a huge Batman fan and i do think the figure and car look awesome together. I just think pay now and try and replenish the funds asap. i think i will be ultimately happy with this purchase.
