I think NECA should make some Pacific Rim exclusives for next year's SDCC. Tell me you wouldn't buy a two-pack with the dude in the Kaiju Barney outfit and the screaming TV host.:lol

It definitely gave me one. That's for sure.

:rotfl

I did not mind them... I love the guy from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" the other scientist drove me a bit crazy..

I thought this film did a great job of taking it subject matter seriously but still made the film a lot of fun..

Guillermo Del Toro should direct the next Superman film :)

:exactly::lecture:exactly:

I agree about the sound being too loud. Weird that so many had that experience.

Yes the sound was so loud that the seats rumbled but it was cool. I loved every second of the action.

I'm actually surprised that I didn't have that experience at my XD theater. It was just right. I wonder if it was an issue specifically with IMAX?

I should mention that my whole family enjoyed it. My two boys sat quietly and enjoyed the whole movie (ages 7 and 4) I don't usually take my youngest to PG-13 films (Amazing Spider-man was the other) but I have brought my boys up on Godzilla, Ray Harryhausen, ad Dino movies so I figured they could handle it. My wife thought it was fun also... She had no idea what the film was about before we saw it :)

My Galaxy theater has what they call DFX, which seems comparable to Cinemark's XD, and they're seemingly trained to sell it as their version of IMAX. The screen is literally floor to ceiling, and the sound is phenomenal. I say all this because...

Our seats definitely rocked to the loud sound, and halfway through I knew I was going to take Advil as soon as I got home. But not once did I regret it! It really added to the experience. I felt enveloped in the world of Pacific Rim.

I think, according to the comic, the first attack is next month! :horror

My calendar is marked for K-day!

I'm smackdab in the middle of the Northeast, so I'm fine! :yess: I've got half a country providing cover on one side, and an entire ocean and many other continents on the other.:lol :yess:

This movie was great! If you're a fan of Voltron, Grandizer, or Mazinger then you have to like Pacific Rim! It brings all of those to life and then some!

August 11, 2013! Figures, that's when Disney is making big announcements about Star Wars at D23...

:rotfl

Yeah, is it August 11th or 10th?

(This is me getting 'geeky'.)

In the movie, I thought it mentioned August 11th, 2013, but in the graphic novel it mentions August 10th. I thought that was interesting, unless I misheard/misread something.
