Polished turds! Nice job! Still funny to look back at where this hobby really started and how far it's come.

Thanks man and it is so true. In less then 10 years, the standards of 1/6 figures have risen way beyond anything we have witnessed before. I can't even imagine what will be in the next 10 years.

I picked up some extra DX Luke head sculpts from a fellow freak here. So far I've replaced one Hasbro head sculpt on my former Hoth X-Wing custom Luke that I did a few years ago.


So far I think it looks good. I thought the head would appear more undersized then it does. All I did was swap the head so far and I may tweek it some more to match everything up to scale. I'm thinking replacing the hands are in order which should help a lot.


I felt the clean head sculpt works better for this and the damaged one I am going to use to swap out my Hasbro head sculpt from my Hoth Luke custom. I'll post pics of that one soon.

Here's some pics of my re-worked Sideshow 1/6 Obi-Wan Kenobi. I weathered his robe, repainted the head sculpt, swapped out the hands with HT ones and beefed him up more in the gut area. Take a look.

weathering , i could do..repaints..ummm...nope...lol..but give me a clone bucket or an alien HS and im all over it..just suck at humans...lol...

I know what you mean. I am the same way when it comes to humans. That's what I have been focusing on improving as of late. I have been experimenting a bit with different paint techniques and other types of methods involving powders and oil pastels. It's really just a trial and error thing to see how it looks.

Ok so speaking of the Tusken Raider, here's some pics I took a while back but never posted in here. The one on the left was my Hasbro one revamped to match the Sideshow one on the right. I replaced the head sculpt with the SS one, and added the outer robe. His hands are an extra set also from the SS one and the gun he is holding is from the SS figure too. The body was replaced with the SS one but all his clothes and belts underneath the outer robe is still the Hasbro clothes. His little harmonica necklace under his chin is still the Hasbro one as well.

Work in progress crappy phone pic for now. More pics to come from my good camera plus a vid. These are my Marmit Sandtroopers re-weathered. The middle one is all Marmit except the rifle. That is Sideshow. The left and right are Marmit Armor placed on Dragon bodies with head sculpts underneath. That is how I bought all 3 of them way back when. I had weathered the one on the right a while ago but decided to re-work him again along with the other 2. I am not 100% done so more progress and pics to come.
