Batman and Robin is the only one that doesn't have one.

Actually, they did a little role reversal there by having Batgirl save Batman and Robin didn't they? :horror

It was ahead of it's time!

Rachel isn't a real Batman character. Batman hardly ever interacts with recurring damsels in distress in the comics. In fact, the contrived love interests is one of the things that sucks about every Batman movie so far.

No problem with Mary Jane (aside being played by Snaggletooth in the Raimi films).

The Pepper character is not an issue for me on paper, it's just that Gwyneth Paltrow is insufferable.

Snaggletooth wasn't so shabby in one though, not even two, but definately not in one.

Yeah, I would have raped her in that rainy alley way with those gang bangers . . . er, I mean invite her over to a Thanksgiving turkey feast with my Aunt and Uncle.

Spider-Man 3? No bueno.

Yeah, she does look pretty good there. But starting in SM2 she looks like a used condom.

And on the subject of tropes.

How come I see people criticize the likes of Pepper Potts, Mary Jane, Rachel etc. needing to be saved, but then when it happens in this, it's all fine? For weeks I've heard *****ing about Pepper Potts, for years I've heard the same old crap about Mary Jane.

Then it falls back on what the character does, what the classic stories have.

Well, don't all those classic stories have Lois Lane being completely oblivious to the fact that Clark Kent is Superman? That is Lane's "thing" isn't it? The best reporter in the world and she can't even tell that the guy sitting right in front of her is Superman. This movie doesn't even leave that idea open, they completely demolish it and have Lois and everyone and their mother (and that's not expression, it's true) about how special Clark is.

Now you might say, "well, that's silly, this is a realistic, film take of Superman, she'd know who he was instantly". But being in every scene with Superman every step of the way and being saved in every scene isn't silly? I just don't get it. A couple of times is fine, I've stated that but it's literally every scene. It's the same beats, it the same situations, just different locations and dangers.

How come it's okay for somethings and they get a free pass, but we'll all rip others for doing the same exact thing? Makes no sense to me.

I have never been bothered by any of the characters u mentioned. I may not agree with the casting choices, but I expect to see the love interest get her *** in contrived situations just so the hero can save the day.seen enough of these movies to understand the formula, I just don't let it bother me. If Mary Jane or Rachael plot devices didn't bother you neither should Lois being used in the same way. There a lot of parallels between all three of them. They all know the hero's secret, there are a love interest and they want to protect this secret at all costs. The cost is always them getting attacked by the main villain or random villain encounters

The Donner films will always be good in my mind. They were great when I was a kid and I didn't know any better. I can let my 3 year old watch them.

But MOS is a whole different story. I can't let her watch that. One cause its got quite a few cuss words in it. Two cause its just way too violent for a three year old. Three because it shows a lot of deaths. Jor El's, Zod's, random people's, soldiers. Its a more "grown up" film. Something superman has been sorely lacking for many years.

Batman 89 did that for the caped crusader but supes never had his big boy movie. Its just a shame we've had to wait so long for a superman who actually can act like superman by showing off his powers.

When I'm in the mood to watch the PG movie with the kids that has the morals and the corn gold soundtrack I'll watch Reeve. But when the kids go to bed and I want to watch superman kick some serious alien asp ill watch MOS.

Both are great in there own ways. We can pick apart both Donner's and Snyder's films till we are all blue in the face. People like what they are going to like and you can't change that by hammering your point of view over their heads again and again. Lets just agree to disagree about the movie and move on. How many pages in this thread must be wasted going back and forth?

But Margot Kidder 2013 is hotter than Amy Adams 2013. Just google it.

Hell no, i'm scared. :rotfl

:goodpost:

I guess it comes down to how these different things are handled.

No idea. Thems the Internets i suppose :monkey1

There was one thing about XO:W that bugged me and nobody else mentions it. Logan has these cool animal senses, yet he can't smell that the blood on 'Dead' Kayla isn't hers or that she hasn't got any wounds :slap
