Would you like to become Immortal

I like the Galaxy stuff. The whole immortality/invincibility thing would work out pretty well if you watched the planet die. Then, you could drift through space until you are caught in the gravitational field of another planet, which you could then explore, since you wouldn't need oxygen or anything else.:lecture Aliens!

go ahead. take immortality.

good luck coping with the DEMENTIA and psychosis it entails.

yeah, the gods must be crazy.

wouldn't that be esentially the same thing as choosing to live forever?

No. Not even remotely close. Again, it goes beyond just your family and friends. You would live to see ALL of humanity and every living thing on this planet, solar system, galaxy obliterated. Everything in the entire universe, obliterated.

That's the thing people don't understand.

What you're talking about isn't certain. You might outlive your family and friends. You might not. You might go first leaving behind your spouse and children. You might not.

But if you were immortal there is no "might", you would outlive every single thing in this entire universe. You would see stars burn out and die. You would be alone for the majority of your eternal life with absolutely nothing to do because at some point you would outlive every celestial body in the entire universe. And at that point it would be just you and nothingness. For eons.

Then what? :lol

my, my, how did I stumble into this thread?.

hmm, be careful what you wish for? I wonder if there's a curse to this immortality thing. Like that movie death becomes her. Live forever but if you break an arm or leg and it stays broken.

I wonder if immortality can cure all. I would love me some wolverine bone marrow. He doesn't need em all right?

I will probably don't have to worry about the end of the world as I will probably be able to afford it in a few millennium, LOL.

Nah stuff that, I get tired easy.. Also you would want to have a well paying job if you plan on living forever..

It'd be nice for the 1st few decades. I've always wanted to see this country, or just the planet in general go through its changes... but FOREVER? The general idea is great, but I would probably go insane.

The funny thing about that is that the sun doesn't hurt them, they can be daywalkers,
so technically they are stronger than other vampires :lol

(they can survive on animal blood too, so they don't need to kill people)
Movie plothole :lol

BTW, thanks for the concern man :duff

I mentioned it. I'd love to see us colonising other planets. One of my regrets about having been born when I was is that I'm not gonna be around for it. I know they're talking about a one-way manned mission to Mars at the moment but...I dunno...is that really gonna go ahead?

:goodpost:

Immortality with an option to die whenever I want to. :yess: :D

What if you could live for as long as you wanted, but you had to set a date for your death?

Like, lets say you could live as long as you wanted to, but you would have to choose when you die before becoming immortal?

would you live 500 years? 1000? 10000?

What kind of immorality did Nova have in mind with his original post? This one^ or vampire immortality where you can still be killed and thus presumably would be killed when our sun goes....Nova.

I decided I don't want to be immortal because I just don't have the patience for people's bull**** anymore. :lol

I would at least keep it a secret. People would hunt u down like a dragon/rhinocerous/lion/tiger for their medicinal parts. Unless it comes with some demi-god power, its useless.

Or we can go the way of Achilles in Troy and aim for the classic immortality - by legend, written history, and popularity.

:goodpost: Keeping it secret would most definitely be wise.

But being a legend would be awesome, then at some point fake your own death. :lol
