I'll try and get a clip done later.
For now, i have tried black tape and the results were sketchy at best.
Believe it or not, using the MKII AU neck piece to light the head resulted in more even light distribution(But obviously doesn't solve the "eyes too big" problem).
In any case till i come up with something, here's the head with my Tony figure, lol:

Great work Username! Looking forward to seeing the final figure. :clap

Even though I don't comment much on your projects, I always enjoy seeing what you have up your sleeve.

The neck connector part, as has been remarked upon, is curiously painted white on the bottom.
This is, in fact, just the colour of the plastic used for the part.
It is also curiously painted black on the inside...I believe this to be a production error.

its black inside to prevent light bleed. the led is also pointed away to help diffuse the light and not have a "hot spot"

:lecture:exactly:Quite right.. painted black inside..a production error??!!

I admire your enthusiasm Username, but you really do come out with some strange stuff.
:lol

Got this Monday, and it's really awesome, so much so that I've ordered a second one from a local dealer for retail price. One for play and one for display...:)

...however, a detail is bugging me. Maybe it's been mentioned before, I don't know, so, is it me, or the HT is completely wrong in the color of the collarbone area? (Should be two triangular silver patterns and here it's red!)

early legacy effects had the silver detailing, the actual cgi model in the movie is red.
...the hall of armor prop in the movies has it "wrong" as it was based off the early legacy documentation and design.

the HT is technically accurate to the cgi used, but inaccurate to the physical prop

im guessing timing between of the different effects houses and filming is to blame for the continuity error, it funny to see that it also carried over in to IM 3 in the same ways since they (prop suit and cgi suit) share the same assets for the MK VII from the avengers.

you would have thought someone would have done something about it

iirc the Mark VI all through production in Iron Man 2 was the same color sceme as the Mark IV. It was only changed in post-production.

Thanks for the clarification:hi5:

That's an interesting little detail I didn't know and would probably have never noticed.
I just saw it as I was comparing HT with PI, then Kotobukiya and Revoltech. They all had the silver triangle but HT! :)

Thanks - that would be tremendous!

Thanks Username. Great pics, explanations and generally keeping us up to date on your antics. Much appreciated!

May I also say thank for your informative posts on this and for taking the time to us how. :D

Thanks a lot guys.
I appreciate your kind words. To everyone else, i did state that my opinions were just that. If you re-read the post, it was all speculation, never stated to be more than me thinking out loud.

In any case, here is a short vid of me taking the lid apart and putting it back together again.
If anyone wants better pics of the inside, let me know.

Thanks for taking the time to make that vid Username. That was easier than I thought!
