I never got that from viewing it personally. Serpentor flew out the window even.

He flew out the window of the dome they were in or whatever but that dome was still under the mountain which imploded in a grand thermonuclear-esque explosion. I can't remember the name of the script writer for the movie but he does the commentary on the blu-ray and he basically said that his instructions from Hasbro were basically to "wipe the slate clean" on the bad guys in case they wanted to do a full villainous reboot.

He said the movie was supposedly to kill everyone off but in an ambiguous, off-screen kind of way so Hasbro could bring anyone back that they wanted.

You make a fascinating point there DPrime. And you're probably on to something with that line of thinking.

and It makes I has a sad.

Ah, well. That's what nostalgia's for, I guess.

On a related topic, I really, really want some minty old Sears and Consumers Distributing catalogs from about '82-'87 or so. Ah, how I loved going through those.

I have no idea how to get one now, though. I keep hoping they'll show up at a garage or used book sale.

I need to get an additional He-man... hmm... thunder punch... or normal version.... decisions decisions...

I assume you have the normal one? And Battle Armor version?

I'd go with Thunder Punch, if that's the case.

Filmation actually did start work on a MOTU animated movie.
Not sure why it never happened.

Here, what you guys think about the life size bust we are due to get:

upuqepe3.jpg

Ugh... the skull looks way too realistic and detailed compared to the outfit... not sure I like it...

See, I don't think it looks realistic enough! Too much detail, doesn't even look like a skull anymore... just a weird, stylized shrivelled up thing.

Might work as a different take. Depends on how it looks painted, I guess.

Well I guess that could have been the intention, but there's little (really nothing) on screen to suggest it. Joes were also inside that dome fighting Cobra La, but they all escaped just hoofing it on foot. Just because we didn't see Cobra escaping doesn't suggest that they all died.

Anyway, I guess He-Man could have had one of those types of transitional films, but if so, it would have laid the way for the New Adventures and I'm not sure the fans would have appreciated that :lol

Funny though that the cartoon and toy skull on Skeletor is actually more anatomically correct than this one.

Yeah that's why I rocked some quotes around "realistic'. It's "realistic" like Injustice is. I am not a fan of the aesthetic.

That bust just reminds me of any old generic skull/grim reaper dude like what you would see on a biker jacket.

It's cool I guess but it's just Skeletor enough for me.

Well it certainly doesn't suggest they all lived. Standard story telling conventions pretty much state that if you see bad guys in a building, then said building explodes, and at the end there are only good guys escaping and cheering then the bad guys are dead.

I don't think anyone watched Star Wars and assumed that Admiral Motti and all those bickering dudes on the Death Star secretly escaped prior to the blast or that half of Jabba's goons escaped the Sail Barge in ROTJ but I could be wrong.

Yeah enough with the Gi Joe talks! This I Command!!!

That painting above is how you do a realistic Skeletor. That would've been perfect.

The sculptor here clearly likes the 2002 Skeletor with more flesh on the bones which is cool enough but just prefer the straight up yellow bone.

I'm just hoping I don't end up in a Shadow Weaver situation for either Octavia or Mantenna with them selling out super fast and immediately selling on eBay for $100.

I just hope that I don’t have the same problem I had last month with that stupid capture word box that cost me my two Strobos, I’d like to have my Spirit of Hordaks.

And just to let Matty know, that stupid thing you can chose to have the words spoke to you isn’t any better, it’s just as unrecognizable, especially for me being hard of hearing as well.

Like everything they do, their webstore is awkward and weird. I don't think I have ever run across anyone else who uses a capta on their shopping cart and I buy a lot of stuff online.
