Probably a decision predicated on size more than on HTs continuing desire to provide plastic iron man mms releases. :lecture

Iron Whiplash would be die cast though?

It's being made in plastic. Diecast made the figure too complex to pull off due to the tiny nick nacks it has on the armor.

Hot Toys is basically going to make the simple mark suits in Diecast and the more "special" ones in plastic to keep the price in a set range.

Is there a link to where it stated they were making IW plastic?
There's a thread over at OSR with a member who's Chinese/Japanese/American that's known for translating HT magazines over on the forums there. He said the article which had IW/Tony Stark and Mark VII stated that HT was going to make it Diecast but found it to be too complicated due to the complex design and decided to make it plastic. He also said one of the articles states that a Pepper Mark 42 is indeed possible from HT.

I apologize for not a direct link. I'm not a active member there but browse around and their 1/6 forum is 10x more hectic and less organized than this site. If I stumble upon it, ill post the direct link to it.

I really hope it is plastic. It just doesn't make sense for them to recently release the pics of him in the magazine with the diecast logo. This is where their crappy communications, and our impatience, sucks!

Well one good thing is that Play Imaginative has come along and is going to set a fire under Hot Toys ***. So if they want to keep their pot of gold, they better start playing the communicate with your market game pretty damn fast.

I don't think they'll make it Diecast. I mean Igor has a more simple design and they're making it plastic. Look at how complex it is.

I wish I could believe that. But they can't possibly make the same figures in 1/6 at the same time. So I'm not sure how they'd be any competition.

Maybe not direct competition on the same scale, but If their 1/4 scale Iron Man figures turn out even more beast then their protos already look. I will pass on the HT 1/6 Heart breaker and Mark 42 to have just one of their 1/4 Heart Breakers.

I am waiting to see what their final product looks like and when we can get them here in the U.S.

I am not so much into keeping with one scale. I just want the best product representation of my favorite characters that I can love to appreciate displaying and looking at.

I'm am sticking to 1/6 only. I have 273 1/6 figures ( 49 Hot Toys, 34 DC Direct 13", 25 Medicom, and 166 Sideshow )

I have no plans on switching scales ever.

Never ordered through sideshow before, do you guys think they'll offer flex pay with this or immediate payment only because it's so "Exclusive" ?

From what I've heard sellers in Hong Kong don't expect this figure until June-August. So, if we get a PO up soon, by the end of this month, I would think Sideshow will offer a 2 month flex on it at least. We shall see.
