The mold for all three parts are still good, and I was thinking along those same lines (to redo it). As for the paints- this is a learning curve going fro 1:18th to 1:6th, but yes, you're right with the clumping.
Thanks.

If you're using plain white resin to cast the faceplates, I would recommend just going over it with a light base of flesh tone then drybrushing some tan paint, "toffee" is generally the name of the color, over it. So long as you have that very light base coat of flesh tone you won't have to worry about it thickening up.

Thanks man. if I had an ounce of photography skills you might be able to see how good it looks in hand FINALLY. I reworked that mouthpiece so much it was getting tiresome and almost like a lost cause :lol

But selling the mouthpiece? I was but now I'm considering selling the whole figure.

Here's how mine is looking atm.

Those eyes look perfect. If I find a cheap enough Bale head I'm willing to destroy I will try that. It's perfect.

That looks amazing!:clap

Looks like bale forsure. Can't wait to recieve my hunterelf faceplate. The squit mod looks great nick. What did you use?

Few shots of hunterelf's face plate. Looks amazing and with the squint mod makes this 100% Bale.

:pray:Pretty please post a video or very detailed instructions on how you did the squint mod. There are literally hundreds of us that want to do it but need that extra confidence that a video would provide.

I have a pretty stupid question. When removing the PERS plate and sculpting eyelids, do you sculpt the lids to the cowl or to the PERS plate? Sorry for any idiocy.

I thought everyone was adding the lids to the cowl.

That's diffeent than what Elvis did.

It definitely does. The squint mod really helps the stock face plates look like Bale more but something is off about them still. Only at certain angles did it look like Bale. It just takes hunterelf's or robbie's face plate to bring out the best of the cowl and eyes.

I used milliput yellow-gray mix to sculpt the eyelids on. It's what Gipetto said he used and we all see how awesome his turned out.

It is hard to tell because of the color how much to add and how far up the eye you should go, as I only sculpted the bottom lid, but it doesn't take much.

I wish I would have videoed my progress as I was trying to perfect it because for me as I never sculpted anything prior to this just trimmed and sanded it down over time until I was satisfied with it. It's was a very long and patient process I had to take so I'm probably not the best person to post a video about it. Someone with more experience who had done this mod should do it. I'm planning on buying another cowl eventually so if I get it and no one has posted a video yet I will make one to the best of my ability but I can tell you a little of what I did and maybe it will help.

The things i used were:
miliput yellow-gray mix
exacto knife
tamiya flat black acrylic paint
a toothpick
canned air
paper towel/napkin

I used a toothpick as a rolling motion to flatten the putty and to use it as a sculpting tool. The tip of the exacto knife was used later after the putty had hardened to shave it down further and sculpt. I haven't really been able to find locally anything to sand and smooth it down which is why I used an exacto knife but it's worked pretty well. During the process though you want to paint the eyelids to see if they are how you want them. You can used canned air to remove any shavings that have come off of sanding and the napkin is if you get any paint on the eye itself. Use the PERS to move the eye up and down to get any that happen to drip down into the cowl. If anyone has questions you can PM me and I'll answer them the best I can.

NOTE that I didn't remove the PERS and the sculpt I did was from the outside of the cowl. I was afraid of damaging the inside to take it all out lol
