I plan on doing the sculpted eyelids. Do I have to remove the eyeballs to sculpt the lids? I'm wondering because I'm afraid the sculpt will stick to the eyes and make them immovable. I'm too chicken to remove the whole PERS system. Way out of my realm of expertise.

You can try painting the lids first. There are many pics in this very thread that illustrate the effectiveness of this simple mod. But if you want to give him more of a squint, well, be prepared. I've already stated that I had to remove the pers plate. But if you choose to do it within the cowl, make sure yor hands are clean from any putty residue...if it gets on the cowl, it'll be a bee yotch to clean up and give more opportunity to screwing up the cowl.

It didn't happen to me mind you, but it did happen to my KO BW sculpt that I carved up for the mouth plate.

So G'luck with your modding.

Thanks for the advice. I have black milliput coming from amazon and plan on practicing on an old TrueType head. Hopefully that'll prepare me. I was going to wrap the DX12 head in painters tape to protect it. Think the tape will mess the head up?

Got my 2nd mouthpiece in from Robbie. On this one, the paint is intact, but now I have to find a way to make it fit in deeper. I REALLY wish that Robbie would fix this!

The following posts are from robbie's thread. These were when he first put up painted images of his faceplate.

There's nothing he will will/can "fix". It's intentional.

Man that really is excellent.

Does anyone think it should be set just a little deeper into the cowl?

Any helpful screen-caps?

In my opinion, no.

I had sculpted from the outside of the cowl because I was to freaked about ruining the inside. I think it takes longer and there is a refining process but it's doable. Just have to have patience with it.

Thanks for the pic. Looks great.

I just finished painting my eyelids. Man was I shaking. Not sure if it was fear or too much caffeine.

I might just leave it at that. Not sure. Love the squint but I can live with the painted lids.

I did paint the eyelids and left them like that for a while and it looks much better than leaving them stock for sure. I only did the squint because seeing so many do it on here and how it really brings out Bale in the cowl and the mouthpieces (especially the smirk) I had to try it. Worst cas scenario I buy another head if I screw up. Didn't want to spend that type of money so I made sure to take my time and was extremely careful lol

Hi all!

First post here...I will be getting my DX12 soon I hope. Ordered it through a local comic shop. I'm based in Cape Town, South Africa.

I wanted to know if there is a video of someone taking out the PERS and painting the eyelids? I honestly think that is the best mod for this figure.

Welcome to the boards.

No video about painting the eyelids. I just did it and used a fine detail brush and some black acrylic. Wasn't too bad, just do a little at a time and don't put too much paint on the brush.

Decided to give an alternate head a go- since I really don't care for the magnet neck on the DX12. What I did was make castings of the DX12 Bruce Wayne head, the Batman neck, and the widened Medicom Batman head.
Here's a look so far....

Those are awesome Pics Maglor. I really want to do the fat suit mod just scared to try it. Wish someone would do a step by step video or photos.

If this helps, here's the pics I posted of the removal....
Got my second DX12 tonight (having sold my first.)- got right to work on him! Just over 30 minutes to take the fat suit off and put the body armor back on. Really was very straight worward. NO cutting. But it was like a woman giving birth to a 15lb baby- some things stretched. lol
Took some pics....

Here is the DX with the Medicom version. (I've modded the chest on him also tonight and repainted the face.)

What hap to your medi cowl? Or is that custom? No offense but that is one ugly cowl bro. Especially the face, everything just look awfull.

LOL I widened the skull, but the face is untouched- save for the repaint. Maybe the angle? Who knows. No offense taken.
Also, maybe you didn't realize that's a Medicom head- that's not the DX12.

Keenan, I think if you were to re-do the cowl and make the eyes and mouth separate things would sit better. As it stands there's not enough room between the nose and mouth. Also the paint is too thick, which is easy to do on flesh tone because it clumps up really quickly.
