Can anyone tell me how well the Takara gauntlets fit this figure? Is it an exact match in terms of size and shape?

I'd just like to ask, what is it I keep reading about mixing pieces from different Batman figures even when they're made from the same manufacturer and the rubbers reacting with each other and causing damage?

My OC batman has the dredded Loose ankles, not yet broken, but it's REALLY loose. How will I go about the DX12 boot mod?

Remove broken boots from figure.
Buy DX12 boots from eBay for a lot of money.
Receive new boots in the post.
Put new boots on figure.
Enjoy.

The extra DX12 Belt can be a little loose, so there's an easy mod if you want to use this belt.

Remove the connector:

The clasp can now attach itself to the where the connector was formally attatched:

It's a snug fit, so I would only use this method if you plan to have your figure in a neutral, standing position. The good thing is, you can put your belt back the way it was if you want.

I really didn't want to purchase an extra DX12 belt with the gadgets, etc. so I used the extras from the Takara belt. Still, not wanting to ruin the DX12 belt in case it's needed, I put pieces of electrical tape on the belt, dabbed them with superglue and attached the parts. This way if they need to come off, it's just like removing the tape.

Very useful tips :clap:clap:clap

Exact fit. The easiest swap ever.

Thanks Maglor, I managed to track down a Takara bats, so I'm glad the swap will be easy. I bought a set of gauntlets from a member that were I guess Gregs Customs? They were gloss black but not in that great of shape...I'll give the Takara ones a shot.

On a side note, is it known for sure that the screen version of the gauntlest are gloss and not flat? Certain shots they look glossy and others they look more flat...just wondering if anyone had a definitive answer on that.

Anyone putting DX12 boots on older rubber suited batmen beware..
I did it ages ago on DX02, looked great but melted. I didn't try on the EX.

look near the tops of the boots, thats where mine began to seep, looks like something is happening
on these too?

yep...bad news. I thought these were just my fingerprints when I put these on as I wiped them off after the pics. Just checked on the figure and there is definitely a reaction. Hopefully someone can figure out a solution. I'm going to try to use electrical tape around the lower leg and/or the inside of the boot so the boot doesn't actually touch it...we'll see.

Maybe it's not a reaction. Maybe this is happening because the dx12 boots are a little too tight for the older Batman?

I don't think so. After reading the above posts, when I went to look at my Bats, there was much more of the shiny residue.
We'll see if this will fix the problem:
Soak the boot sleeves in warm water with a little bit of dish washing soap for a few minutes. Take them out, lightly scrub them (inside and out)with a soft tooth brush and rinse. This should take card of the residue. If you know it was there, you can barely see where it was:

Take strips of electrical tape, slide them down most of the boot length until the inside is covered. Cut the tops as closely to the top of the boot as possible, leaving it (just barely) above the lip. We don't want it touching the Bat-Suit.

We'll see if this works. I'll check it out after a day or two to see if this stops the reaction.
