i got a couple PMs around the riser used to rise the height of the statues in the back, for the 78" wide pax ikea has the perfect solution:

https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/40207471/

This has many advantages:

1) It's a precise fit across the entire shelf width and is about 60% of the depth of the shelf at around 13", which leaves enough depths to fit most statues in both the front on the shelf, or back on the riser.

2) It has its own weight bearing screws to secure the riser, which means the riser itself + all the statues on the riser will support its own weight instead of dump the entire weight onto the shelf. While i am sure the shelf can handle all the weight, it just makes it more peace of mind especially if you have many heavy statues on 1 shelf.

3) It's cheap at $20 and easy to install in minutes.

4) If you dont like the white color, just get a table cloth and cover it up.

This is a great way to display your "team" of statues together, it will have that museum display look AND save tons of space thanks to the generous 22"+ depth the pax has. See example of my lotr setup below, it uses this riser and a black table cloth on a single 38" wide pax shelf.

ps: pls post your questions here instead of pm, thanks.

Looking forward to your updates

Here are the pics as promised. Big thanks to gagaliya for the guide. :hi5:

I made mine a little different by painting the back gray. I really like how it turned out.

very nicely done pave!! you really packed this to the MAX :lol I count 24X 1/4 & 1/5 statues in there(but nicely laid out), it would take a whole wall of besta to fit the same #.

Is this the 93" height one or the ~70", judging from the height looks to be the shorter version which makes it even more crazy how many statues are able to be displayed.

Notice you went with the single panel option too, looks great

Thanks gaga!! :rotfl

Yes...I'm all about utilizing display space because it really is at a premium in my collection room. I bought the 78" because there is a heat register in the floor where I wanted to put the pax which meant I had to raise the pax off the floor so I could still get heat/air flow. I had to build two platforms for the pax to sit on so I no longer had enough clearance for the tall pax.

I decided on the single panel because it allows for more shelf height variation in case I wanted to change it up in the future.

Thanks again for the guide....it really is the perfect display case for 1:4 scale statues. Now I just need to figure out a way to make it dust proof. :duff

Wow everyone has such nice display cases. I wish I could afford these cases but I can't. Any solutions for a good quality case that is cheap and can hold Statues, Premium Formats and Maquettes? Really need a case.

the cost comes from the led lighting and sliding doors, if you are ok with just the frame (book case) style, it can be purchased for very cheap on ikea site. Obviously it wont look as nice and can get dusty fast, but if want a cheap solution it's not bad
