I'm not certain why but my tunic is different lengths at the boot toe and my cape is all kinds of uneven, right side touches the ground and the left side is way off it. Not sure if it is a result of my bunching or just the way its cut.

Anyone else have uneven cape length and / or tunic length? I don't want to pull too much on the material to try and even it out. I may have to refutz this guy tomorrow and see if I did something wrong. Still looks way better than the Sideshow cape and especially the tunic. I thought I'd miss the silk lining but I really don't.

Looks really good, WG! Great series of shots.

As for uneven lengths, mine seems to be even everywhere. I doubt its the cut, more about how its futz/bunched/draped, of course I could be wrong :dunno

But anyway, I really like how yours turned out, you did some fine futzing!

Would you mind sharing how you 'cinched' yours? I'm crap with a needle, but maybe I can McGuyver another solution.

Here's the simplest pic to show what I did...

Pretty straight forward. Just give the string enough room to spread out a bit -- shoulder length.

Thank you, sir. You started all this with that damn body so I appreciate the nod. :D

I'm sure my uneveness is a result of my unique cinching. Perhaps I should redo it and take it slower this time. I would like to take anopther crack at getting this just perfect.

good solution wg..........i kind of gave up trying the accordian effect. i did do a thread wrap around that went under the belt so i have like one crease.......:lol

and i did manage to get a narrow look on the front chest...........well at least until i put the robe on..........

i still think there is a bit too much fabric in that front shoulder area........but damn does it lay nice & looks way better than the original.

crap pic but.......

Looks damn good.

I definitely want to try mine again. My first go was experimental. I think I'll fold the shoulder material over once so, like you said, there just isn't so much material spilling over everywhere. Folding first, then cinching the "accordian" should work better.

Lookin' good Barry :rock :rock :rock

Creative way to achieve the "accordion" look WG! Necessity breads creativity, right? No...:dunno... What is that saying? Anyway, good stuff WG :clap

I was gonna refutz mine, but I don't wanna take a step backward. It took a fine amount of futzing/annoyance the first time around. I have the thought in my head " if I "F" with it now I might not get it right again"....:lol

Sooooo....what now :dunno.....:lol

thanks wg & k...........
I think he's good for now but I will revisit this soon. toughest futz ever.......:lol
the next round I will take the lead from wg and use thread in places and probably trim a bit of material as well. the nip tuck approach........:)

I/m not sure of the list that's many pages back now, but it seems maybe others are still waiting for theirs as well since we are short on participation here.

I hope yours comes soon. Xmas mail might be slowing things up. But PM Lance to double-check your address.

I am ordering these and the DX-12 Rayon after New Year.

Patience around this time of year is paramount.

Loving how this drapes WorGar and KD, and thanks for the tips for prepping this.:hi5:

So I redid my stitching for OCD sake, and got Vader looking a little more even -- can't really see it in the pics above,.

But I've come realize there is just too much tunic material -- you need to hide so much to make it look right. I'm going to ask Lance if it is safe to trim the material because I think with a little less bunched up on the shoulders, this guy will look a lot better and you'll see that outline of the shoulder armor under the cape.

yes sir..........i've mentioned this before. i think a way around that could be to accordion sew it like you did but in two places, one at the shoulder.........and the 2nd at the belt.

here are a few pics........just playing around with some backgrounds & different exposures.

Yes, that's exactly what I did -- top of shoulders and another at the beltline.

Problem is, it really bunches up around the chest area. Definitely could use some trimming of the material. I've PM's Lance to see if we can simply cut the material without fraying issues.

NICE pictures by the way! That first yellow one reminds me of the old Topps cards. :clap

Did you fold your material over at the shoulders first?

Barryo, remind us again, is that a Hasbro dome on your Vader? And what body is it on? Your figure really captures a nice "man-in-suit" look here.
