Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Why do everyone keeps arguring about which is better, and how much the DX10 is off, the MMS Arnold was a great figure and still is a great figure, is the likeness of the DX10 better? yes....anyone who says differ, obviously don't own the figure...Ray Charles could have told you the DX10 is a great figure and a better likeness of Arnold, but as I said repeatedly I still love my MMS and he isn't going anywhere....and for those who have one and want to get rid of him just send him to the Masamune charitable foundation for unwanted 1/6 figures and I will find him a home (mainly on my shelf)

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

the fact is not if this figure is more accurate than the mms..or not
this likeness is a improvement for sure (with glasses on ;))
the fact is... after waiting all this years this new release (commercial speculation) had to be perfect...in all the way..

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

It was your pics, Skull, that prompted me to come back to this thread and say I'm still waiting for the MMS comparisons. People just kept blasting the DX10 there and you showed just how close the sculpt is with this nice comparison:

Heres my attempt at that scene

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Good shots there Fiend.

Some people will disagree just to disagree, or stand firm on a position just cause. Your pics a-dev clearly show the dx is way more acturate to the film than the mms, denieing that to me just seems weird after seeing those pics:dunno not saying people can't like the mms better but to say its more acturate than the dx is just:cuckoo:

Well in fairness to him I don't think hes one of the guys saying the MMS is better, he's just 'tempering' what he thinks is our overenthusiasm for DX10 because he doesn't think the difference is huge. Not sure what he thought was wierd about my pics though.

I actually don't think my pics embarrassed the MMS by any means. I didn't want to deliberately make it look inferior.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I don't care what figure you release, they are never going to be 100%, you could have took arnold himself and put his face in a mold shrank it, and put it on a 1/6 figure, and I guarantee you there would be those who will say the sculpt is off in some kind of way.....some people just like to point out faults in anything. If you have the figure just enjoy an awesome figure, if you don't why put it down? you didn't spend any money on it. the majority of the people who bought the DX10 loves it, myself included...could it have been better? ....maybe...but show me a figure someone hasn't liked something about it. I guess my expectations were not as high as some people....I even had a little misgiving about the figure until I undressed it, and I could imagine Arnold appearing naked coming out of the time sphere and I said to myself "yeah that's Arnold alright" and I have been happy with my figure. I even went as far as to buy the DX 10 Nude so I could pose it as Arnold coming out of the time sphere...for me the figure is perfect.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Thanks BMD:1-1: I did'nt nail the pose right but it still gets the point across. The only thing thats off just a tad is the hair, on the actual arnord the hair line is a bit more receeded on the side, that may be what makes the dx look abit younger. Other than that you can see the whole face structure matchs perfectly.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I have a question for everyone with this figure already, how hard is it to move the eyes? The little joy stick is so hard to move on mine I'm afraid it's going to break and when I can move it his eyes hardly move at all. I've got the DX2 Batman, DX Bad Michael Jackson, DX Bruce Lee, DX Indiana Jones, DX Jack Joker, and DX Keaton Batman, none of their eyes are as hard to move as this figure.

Is there a trick to it, do I need to work it to free it up, do I loosen the screws, or do I just force it? I'm already not liking the recent treatment from Sideshow's customer Service I got and I hate to call them up about it, they'll just think I'm stewing up trouble or making it up to get something for nothing.

What should I do? :dunno

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I tend to agree with Solarsailor pretty much.

That said - I personally think the DX-10 is a great release anyway, but not a figure I need.

Additionally, a-dev's comparison pics are great, & in particular highlight how off the old MMS shades are.

I think if I got the DX-10 shades for my MMS, I'd be pretty content. :)

I would heat it up a bit as you would a stiff elbow joint. Don't take the chance of forcing it.

In the PERS case heating up might be a bad idea? Heat softens the plastic so it will soften the joystick first if you aim the flow to the inside. So have to heat it up from the outside. The heat will soften the eyeballs and surrounding plastic but also expand the material. So it might work better or worse depending on which material get softer first and stays closer to the original dimension.

Blow dryer to heat it up then pop it off, theres also hot water but I don't like that way but it does work, however being theres metal screws I don't recommend the hot water trick.

Excellent pics of the sculpt^
Thanks man same to you. I haven't been in this thread much since I got him and didn't even know you of yours :lol :slap absolutely love that dio of yours and pics as well.
:exactly::goodpost::lecture :lecture

LOVE Those Shots! Might have to steal that pose! ;)
Thanks Rzez. I tried to mimmick the SS T2 PF

I've got him in this pose now:

I know everyone goes to displaying him with the glasses b/c that's just the iconic look, but I love posing him without the shades on. The sculpt is too awesome to be covered up by the glasses
Great shots a-dev and gipetto:hi5: you can really see that they pretty much nailled the likeness to a film acturate t2 arnold. People can say what they want about the dx10 but its the most acturate sculpt of arnold to date from that film, is it perfection......no, but damn close. Gipetto your shot inparticular are amazing, that looks so bada$$:thud:
Thanks man. I looked through the thread a bit and you've got tons of great shots of especially of the the sculpt sans glasses. Love the comparison of you did of the movie still of him staring back at the bar tender. That one really shows how awesome this sculpt is. I don't care what ppl voted on Facebook, this was the mos pleasently surprising figure and best figure of 2012 for me for the ones that I bought.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

don't like the space between the orbit and the eyes in this dx...
for the most of figure I've seen the pers option ruins the whole head..

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I disagree about the MMS. The jaw and mouth are so far off, I don't see Arnold with the sunglasses on. The one comparison pic I've seen didn't help the figure at all. Again, people keep saying that it looks more like Arnold. Here you are saying "no matter what anyone says," about the MMS with the sunglasses on. Post some comparisons to movie screens and show me. I'm interested to see what angles this figure looks like Arnie, especially since people keep telling me.

Well I have the MMS. It looks good, It looks like Arnie. I suppose I could put up a pic and a still from the movie. Going off the general reaction I don't think I'm too far off the mark. Most YouTube/facebook/blind tests show a mixed bag with lots of people liking both versions. More importantly some of these people don't have a pre-set bias depending on which figure you own.

Well in fairness to him I don't think hes one of the guys saying the MMS is better, he's just 'tempering' what he thinks is our overenthusiasm for DX10 because he doesn't think the difference is huge

This is exactly what I'm trying to say. There is nothing wrong with over enthusiasm!! Just not at the expense of what is still a quality product even though it has weak area's.

Not everyone can afford "2 of this figure and 3 of him" or " I'll swap out that head and battle damage that head and swap that body"

Some people just want a good representation of Arnold in Terminator 2 and I think the MMS already offers that for those that already own him. For those that don't or are big T fans, go for your life. :)

I used to believe that too. Then I bought the figure. I was wrong.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I know what you mean! I had to get a second Head/Body of the DX to display with the Glasses and one without I like it that much! And here I never thought Id want more than one other T2 Arnold unless it was Battle Damaged! :lol

You can't even see that in hand. Mine looks fine. These cameras pick up so much stuff that turns out to be a non-issue.
