Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

:clap:goodpost:

I still say the 117 looks more like him from T2. Dx10 looks like him from his younger earlier days as a roided out body builder.

Sure, if in T2, aswell as looking way older with bonier features Arnie's face went completely square-shaped, his nose got shorter and his eyes drifted further apart, then yeah I'd agree..117 looks better. But I don't remember those things happening to Arnie's face in the film. The T-1000 was the shape-shifter, not Arnie.

Looks great, Andrew.
I switched my T2 body for a T1 too, but mainly because my T2 took a plunge a while ago and the mid-post of the upper body broke.
And now both are on the same body and look great, but your photos really show off just how much Arnolds bulk "went away" through years from the T1 to T2...

On the figures at least and I'm sure it could be shown with movie comparisons too how much better the new proportions and shapes are.

FINALLY

I'm still waiting for the MMS fans to post some comparisons to movie stills where Arnold looks even remotely similar. I've already seen a few convincing comparisons with the DX (though I don't need to be convinced).

As soon as I can muster the willpower I'm going to do some comparitive Pescadero photos showing how much closer the DX can match the film than the MMS can. I'll attempt to mimic exact shots from the film, and be as exact in the angles and poses as I can with both figures.

If you watch T1 and then T2 you clearly see the decline in his bulk...if you ask me...

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I showed the figure to my brother and asked his opinion on the likeness. He said - looks like Arnie, bit too young looking though and the hair looks a bit too thick..though he acknowledged he wasn't sure how sculpted hair could be thinned out.

I don't disagree. However I think his looking too young could be as much to do with the new softness about recent HT sculpts. Theres simply no longer the same skin texture that there used to be. Unless theres a sculpted-on wrinkle the surface is smooth and I think thats whats making him look too young.

Agreed. Whatever they changed in the manufacturing process was not for the better. This figure could have been a little more awesome if it weren't for that.

3 weeks on and i still love this figure. Allthough while changing his pose up today i broke a wrist peg switching hands :(, so i just stuck with the shotgun up pose. I really dislike posing him with the minigun i don't know why it just looks awkward to me.

heres a shot of mine, thought id make use of the insert and minigun somehow.

Very cool. I never thought to do anything with the insert.

I also didn't enjoy the mini gun pose. I may try it again some time.

Yeah the insert does make a nifty little display. I'll definitely use them. Thanks for that idea Stealth.

not a problem :hi5: only annoying thing is the insert likes to slide down if you don't rest it at the right angle lol.

Love that display right there! :clap Such a badass figure that he deserves his own shelf without the clutter of others. Very nice.

That is an awesome display and pose my friend! :clap Just got the package from the postman at home but I've gotta wait til 5:30 to open him up when I get home! :gah:

Why wasn't the insert a 1:1 T-800 chip? That would have been awesome and the swing for me to actually purchase it.

Great stuff.
Is that actually a shutter in this T2 logo and it reveals arnold, or did you do that?!

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Yes the shutter slides open and closed

If you switch that gray shirt to the black , even more badass man^^^^

People still banging on about this :slap Shades on or off? With shades on you've got about a 5% difference between the figures. One has slightly better features, one has slightly better paint and sculpting.

I guess the 1 guy in the world displaying him with the shades off can have a moan though.... :rotfl

Funnily enough the randoms on the Youtube comparison video like the old one better.

It doesn't matter which one you've got, they are both great pieces - shades on , and both average - shades off.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I think they're mimicking the teaser trailer where his eyes ligh up and the T2 logo slams closed. Still awesome.
