Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

That sucks. Modding these things shouldn't be required. This stuff should be interchangeable off the bat. Hot Toys knows their customers might want to refresh their old kits. This stuff seriously bugs me.

Hot Toys knows their customers might want to refresh their old kits... and for this reason they have tried to make this change a not easy task, they have to sell for the most all the new dx10 figure.. .

post corrected...:lecture :wink1:
and I am sorry about this because I agree with you...but these are market forces/rules so I undestand hot toys too...
for our lucky we are reach to solve this issue too..

True, but I actually prefer the method of attachment for DX10. Easier to take the head off and much easier to pop it back on than the usual style of connection. The external aesthetics are a step backwards now, what I'm talking about is the internal workings.

DX10 body IS less bulky, not quite as wide and less rounded in the man-t!ts region. Oddly DX10s neck is bulkier in profile but not as bulky in the front and back views.

Wow, what a difference, and an improvement all around. Really enjoyed the pics a-dev, love the sets you have to work with, the detail and scaling of it on that elevator is really impressive, almost can't tell it's 1/6.

Thanks Maulfan, as I mentioned before that elevator is pretty much going to be my default photo-stage whether it suits the figure or not. I've found the lights in it very useful, much better than trying to use the light in my room here or even worse, having to resort to flash.

I know the proportions were your biggest beef with the MMS117 - they've really improved it here for definite. For a long time I had doubts but this figure is an example of the final product coming out better than the prototype we were shown.

I think without a doubt, the prototype photographed for HT's shots was incomplete, the portrait was quite off from looking like Arnold, the body seemed still somewhat close to MMS117 proportions, I think they rushed it to keep in competition with EB and clearly put in the time needed for the final product, the portrait was dramatically improved and the body looks great.

My budget is still uncertain right now, but if it's around still, I'm leaning towards buying this and DX13 to have clean and BD looks rather than spending the same amount on a single EB BD figure, but we've still yet to see that final product and I don't know what my options are going to be.

Looks great to me, the t1 body is great for the t1 terminator and the dx body looks perfect for t2 terminator:clap

Yea, the new body is much better and they even got his pectoral muscle sculpted more accurately this time around.

Exactly mate. Its great that we now have 2 movie-appropriate body sizes to choose from.

Well I really think you'd be pleased with this one. Its not perfect but I would still put it a good bit ahead of 117 and consider it a worthwhile ''rehash'' if thats what its to be remembered as.

I still say the 117 looks more like him from T2. Dx10 looks like him from his younger earlier days as a roided out body builder.

I do like the increased arm articulation on the DX though.

Looks great, Andrew.
I switched my T2 body for a T1 too, but mainly because my T2 took a plunge a while ago and the mid-post of the upper body broke.
And now both are on the same body and look great, but your photos really show off just how much Arnolds bulk "went away" through years from the T1 to T2...
