Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Can't wait to see the outfit for this figure. This is a very exciting project.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

I noticed that the boots aren't creased? I'm wondering if Rainman is going to add that, the boots should look worn.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

I think the sculpt is looking good so far but would humbly suggest that the final paintup on the eyes really has more of a glare in them; at the moment he looks a little too much like a kind person.

He is the Rainman but he's not the weather man...that's Sebs job :lol

Weathering is something that I'd wish he'd get into but as we've seen with several past releases, he makes certain things a little to clean when they shouldn't be.

I thought Rainman did a pretty good job weathering Plainview's boots.

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

No not weathering, the sculpted part of the boots should have subtle sculpted creases in them as if they've been bent. I'm assuming that the entire boot is not going to be leather only the part from ankle up. He also needs to add the croc pattern.

This figure actually requires alot of work, I applaud Rainman for doing it because it truly is going to be an effort.

I'm also a bit worried about the hair. Rainman did say he was going to fix it, but the wave in the hair should be reversed straight down. The hair going down and curving to the slight left still looks too styled out.

Those WII characters always creep me out but that does look quite a bit like Anton lol

This is truth :lecture. He did kill it on the boots, forgot about that. I think that's the only thing he weathered though. I was referring to things more like Plainview's hat. That should have been more dulled down and and a big part of what makes that hat Plainview's is the sweat marks. He doesn't do stuff like sweat marks

Hopefully the leather will go all the way to the toe and that'll act as an insert with just the sole and heel exposed

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

All leather boot ain't gonna work pop! Were plainviews boots all leather or was part of it sculpted? The Boots have to stay sharp on the toebox, cannot lose that detail. But if Rainman finds a way to use that croc pattern in leather than I'm all in for being amazed!

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

Plainview's boots were all fabric. I'm just saying because it's the only thing that makes sense. I don't see how he'd sculpt the front and just add leather to the top and make it look seamless. I really think that the only parts you will see exposed from that piece in the WIP is the sole and heel

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

My money is on the half sculpted/ half leather boot. From ankle up will be the fabric material is what I'm thinking.

I didn't realize the Plainview boots were all fabric? I need to take another look at them.

I don't know if it will help :)

Re: Rainmans New Project: 'No Country Killer'

I'm cool with Rainman keeping his figures unweathered. It gives them an extra little stamp that distinguishes them from other customs.
