That face looks good, but don't people dislike the DX12 one because it looks like he's smiling? This one kind of looks like it's as well. Maybe even more the DX12 one imo.

got my dx12 over the weekend, along with the batpod. whew, hard on the wallet!

i gotta say i'm quite pleased with this new figure. the bale headsculpt is pretty good, and the suit itself is well done. the base is cool too. so i really don't know what some people are whining about. just excessive nitpicking i guess.

the only two issues i have are:
- the cape. it doesn't tuck into the shoulder slots properly no matter what you do.
- the boots. i understand why ht made it a separate piece from the rest but it ends up making batman look like he's wearing shoes.

but these are relatively minor issues. it's not a perfect figure but i don't need absolute perfection in a 12inch figure. overall, i think it's a winner. will post pics when i find the time...

For those having trouble getting the cape to lay flat.


The part of the clip indicated by the arrow below needs to be pushed under the suit. Until you do that it will be a constant problem. Once you get it under the suit you literally never need to think about it again. It will lay flat until the day you remove the cape.

Here is what you should see once the clip is in place:

Takes a little wiggling and a little force, but it CAN be done, and it makes all the difference.

The DX02 looks really, really good Mag. Up close it looks like it could use a little more refinement, but it sounds like you're already on it.

You mean the DX02 face plate? Yeah, I'm still tweaking it. Will prolly do the neutral face plate as well.

The neutral face plate of the TF 2011 Batman Begins is also pretty good, although I don't think it would be possible to modd it to fit in the DX12.

The 02 looks better than the one it comes with Mag. I like it.

The DX12 head must look teeny tiny on that body.

I hope not too bad looking. If someone has a picture of the DX12 on the MMS body please post it. I wanna see if it is teeny tiny. (<<thats what she said.)

Also, is the DX 12 much different fromthe dx02 in size? Saw the 02 head on the MMS and thought it looked great.

Great review! You really did a nice job showing off the figure and how great it looks. You really don't like the cape, though, huh? You seem to be one of few who likes the wired capes. Seems like you're good at posing it, though, because your 89 Bat's cape looked great from what I saw.

It's not perfect yet, but...

Brave man Mags! I have it sitting neck to my cowl now for a while, getting together the balls to start cutting/sanding. I just can't help thinking about what these are going for on ebay, but at the same time my DX02 boots are already screwed so maybe I will take the plunge. I think it looks good (and lovely pics), but I think it's a little weird looking to be honest? It think maybe you need to take more off the chin and leave a little more over the mouth? The distance from lips to nose, lips to chin looks off IMO. I'm sure it would be easy to fill with milliput? And that slight sidewards mouth position that the DX02 always had, seems more apparent as well. Still better than the DX12 faceplates though, although I have grown to like, not love, the angry one.

on a side note, did you bang the tip of your nose? it seems to have a flat end in those pics?

Edit: Got it out (the PERS plate), not for the faint hearted.. nearly lost a finger..

That looks fantastic Rory. What did you do once you got the eyes out? Did you paint something or just replace the eyes? They look like keaton's eyes.

took out the pers and sculpted new eyelids. Now it looks badass from the front! Amazed what a difference it makes to the entire figure. Will post some pics later.

I did wonder if that was it. You just sculpted more eyelid. You're right, it makes a huge difference and gives it that more squinted look bale always had. Can't wait to see pics of the whole figure with it. Nice work.
