What are the controls like in these Assassin's Creed games?

I'm not much of a gamer outside of sports and the here and there Arkham or GTA games, but this one has really piqued my interest.

The combat flow is similar to games like Arkham. It's a bit more realistic though and involves more countering.

I'd say that Arkham was a long way above AC1,2,B,R. No comparison really.

Not sure about AC3 and hope its dramatically improved there.

I completley disagree :stick

Batman AC has no replay value at all , same 5 thugs throughout the whole city cloned over and over , nothing to do.

Assassins Creed is just fun as hell to play over and over , just the climbing concept kicks serious ass over other games :wave

Funny, I've never replayed an AC game (besides AC1), but I've replayed AA and AC countless times.

3 Years in the making this looks to be a winner. I may order this and hope have enough time to play. Love the historic side of things and its very interesting to me that it involves real historic scenes

You replayed what is mostly considered the most boring and repetitive Assassin's Creed game, but not Assassin's Creed II or Brotherhood???

I honestly try to replay Assassin's Creed I but it bores me now. The combat and climbing mechanics are a complete mess and somewhere along the third or fourth horse-riding trip I pop the disc out and pop in any of the more fluid sequels.

And the replay value for the sequels is much higher. The combat is much improved and the missions are more diverse and engaging.

ACIII is going to be a masterpiece.

Agree on AC3, althought AC1 still looks good to me, don't know what copy you bought :lol but no matter what AC1 was extremely repetitive, even during that first time through: Leap of faith, leap of faith, kill this guy, leap of faith, leap of faith, sneak, die in water, leap of faith, etc.

The free running around was what kind of kept me going.

It LOOKED fine. But it just got soooo repetitive. Talk to master, ride the horse for what felt like a half-hour, listen to people whispering, steal info, help a damsel in distress, finally get to kill someone, go see master, rinse and repeat.

But the combat was so slow and forced that I hated fighting at all in that game.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that ac1 is the worst of the series. You have to remember the big gap between 1 and 2 though, I replayed it 3 times. Once for the story, another to get all the achievements and flags, and another before ac2 hit. There's only a year apart from releases now. And there's othe games I played while waiting. :dunno

I started a replay on 2 but never finished it.

Hopefully my Gamestop still has the limited edition for pre-order. If not, are there any other places that are selling the LE, or is it just Gamestop?

I replayed 2 and actually enjoyed it even more than I played it the first time. But I don't think PS3 had trophies for the achievements on the first AC, so that certainly didn't give me any help either.

I just replayed AC2 and its the best one outta them all .

It's a long interesting story that spans over 15 or so years from Florence to Venice to Rome.

ACB felt short but still a fun game

ACR was again short , I did enjoy playing as Altair again and Old Man Altair.

Why does Altair talk with a perfect American accent in AC1 , but in revelations , he has an Arabic accent???? WTF happened , it's been bugging the crap outta me.

Tried playing AC1 again , its so horrible now

When AC1 came out, everyone was complaining about his voice and says it was insulting that an Arabic character sounds like Solid Snake.

Are you sure you weren't playing MGS4 with the Altair costume?
