Superman line from Mattel

I also took advantage of the great deal at Ollies and grabbed Luthor and Zod to display with my Hot Toys Supes. While we all know they aren't Hot Toys quality... I think these guys are great for $25 each, and are well worth picking up if you have the HT Superman.

And heck... If you have kids that admire your HT Superman like I do, or that are fans of the Reeve Superman films, it is even worth picking up the Superman for $25 as well. I grabbed one for each of my boys to put under the Christmas tree this year. As big fans of the classic films, I have a feeling they will flip for these.

One question though- Was there a fourth figure planned for this line that didn't make it? I ask becuase if you place the figure boxes side-by-side to assemble the mural, it doesn't complete. It seems like it needs one more box to finish it off. I am guessing the line didn't do well enough to continue, and the fourth figure was scrapped.... I wonder waht it would have been? I am guessing it was probably going to be Clark or Jor-El...

Good question. I don't recall Mattle ever talking about a fourth figure. I just wish we had this store by me. The nearest store for me is Ohio. Great find and price

Thanks for the heads up, guys! Bought another Supes to keep MIB, plus I finally got a Zod and Lex to display.

Ollies had a ton of Mattel DC product, including the Movie Masters Kilowog, as well as the Matty Super Friends Robin and Hawkman.

Yea, the line didn't sell well enough to warrant a fourth figure. Sucks that the mural was never finished. I feel like if the fourth figure had been Jor-El it might have sold pretty well, but given that none of the other three sold well I could be wrong.

Lex is so worth getting for $25!

Put mine on a Soldier Story body. Replaced the buttons with something a little less clownish. Made a new scarf in black and white. Now I just need a decent kryptonite necklace.

I wish HT would do a Chris Reeve Clark Kent figure. Frankly, a CK sculpt and clothes should have been included with the first figure, but I digress. Doesn't seem likely they will, though, since the CR Superman is still available at SSC. Maybe when Man of Steel gets closer they'll think about doing one.

Speaking of which, has anyone seen anybody trying to do a custom Henry Cavill Superman yet? Anyone here trying to do one? I'm actually really looking forward to that line when it eventually comes. Would love a Cavill Superman/Clark Kent, Russell Crowe Jor-El and Michael Shannon General Zod.

The body and hands are the same - EXCEPT they sculpted a small pinkie ring onto the hand. But the hand pose is still the same.

Lex and Zod share the same body which has some nice chest and shoulder articulation but Superman is quite different. His chest, shoulders and arms are far more muscular. The hands are all compatible though.

I did this one, I made 3 more for fellow freaks and I improved on it lot, unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures of them. So I just have these.

The gold/yellow belt, the appliances and the boots. I re-did the appliances to be a little thinner. I really need to make another.

Anyone know if the matty Supes belt/underwear are sewn on? I ask because I'm about to do some modding and I'm debating which suit to grab. Seems matty's would be affordable, but I need the underoos to come off without damaging the suit.
