Sadly I'm not the least bit surprised at the price. The way things have been going, it's pretty much at what I thought (I was thinking $225).

I concur. :exactly:

Me too.

Shipping is extra.

that sucks. If shipping is extra at BBTS, the $215 is the same price as sideshow with free shipping. Especially since you have to add $2 to upgrade to a collectors edition.

Why does anyone living in the US who could get free shipping through SS think getting it at BBTS is a better deal?

ITS NOT!

THATS A BINGO.

They really need to improve the head and then maybe it might be a better pill to swallow, but as it stands now the origins head was looking better.

Said person may be living in CA where they get hit with taxes ordering through SS. Not to mention BBTS double box their figures, unlike SS

yeah state by state taxes can be the reason some don't buy from Sideshow. I usually buy from AE if its $190 or more because with shipping and cash back stuff they are normally the same price at that point but AE double boxes it! under $190 I just go with Sideshow.

I shop at BBTS because it allows me to combine items to reduce shipping so from that prespective its better , however side show does give you points on certains Hot Toys products that can be used towards other purchases also BBTS on most things does not require a NRD unlike Side Show which does not to mention I for one like the delay as it provided we with a chance to further decide if I want the figure or not

yea double boxing is definitely one of the main selling points buying from retailers. Many have had their figure boxes damaged because SS is too cheap to double-box them; I think they make profits off those shipping prices too.

E.g. Rescue Cap costs $15 to ship. I usually pay that price to UPS only when I ship a figure that's been double boxed with lots of packing nuts/foam. The figure with the shipper itself should cost at most $8-$9 to ship...and that's not counting the volume discount that shops like SS will receive from delivery carriers.

Sorry to add to the self-pity train but WOW. $235!!??? REALLY? I've only been in this hobby for a little over a year....and apparently it was the wrong year to get into it... Price point jumps of anywhere from $80-100 dollars with minimal accessories to boot.

This one was totally on my interested list, but I can barely justify spending this on anything let alone a doll.

Not only does it come with so little but the head isn't as good as HT provide for other figures.

If this was $190 there'd still be people thinking it's not worth it due to the contents and lack of likeness and they're pushing further into the $200 range :slap

The only HT on my list these day is X-Men, Expendables and Arkham City. And even those are now becoming un-buyable due to the crazy pricing

Re: Hot Toys - MMS187 - X-Men: The Last Stand: Wolveri

The price hike wasn't unexpected. I called it earlier just the wrong price (I forgot about Loki $219). The price hikes typically between $10 -$20 and it is getting rather predictable what figures it'll hit.

I know SS doesnt care whether I buy directly through them or AE CSC etc it's still a sell to them. That said, SS can kiss my lil white butt , i am not paying their price. HT isn't too far away from the same invite. Perhaps they (HT) should consider expanding North America sales partners :wink1:

Have you ever purchased a lighter from a gas station/corner store. When inquiring about the price the teller says $2.50...you say out loud "$2.50!!!!" shrug your shoulders and buy it anyway!!! Well I don't think I can do that anymore.

Hurry up and get Returns Penguin and DX Rocky out so I can remove myself from this ridiculously priced hobby!!!

Well, I found HT price tag to be just about right when I started this hobby, which was with the BR joker, at 150$.

But this is crazy. Not buying any avengers because of this except Thor, because my girlfriend likes him so much and I like the idea of one figure on my shelve being something she likes.

This is a lot of money for what you get.

That said, I won't leave the hobby. This just makes me be much more selective when buying a figure. I used to buy everything that came out from the Prison Break Figures to the Iron Men, but now I hardly buy at all. I want all of the Avengers, all of the Batmen, all of the odd and end figures like Tron but I can't anymore. The extra $80 - $100 a figure is too much. I still love me some Hot Toys, but I just can't have them all anymore.
