Ummm...I meant like the month of February, the actual month, was moved to March. Get it? Like the whole month?....Ahh never mind :(

The problem is no item with an open ES has been closed yet. I honestly don't think this will be any different. Unless they put out some sort of public countdown for how many statues sold, the truth is we may never know when they actually will close the ES.

:goodpost: The Endoskull was up for order in 2006? and is still available for order on the website. That's 6 years.

Battle Damaged Iron Man Mark III is still up for order as well. 4 years I wanna say? All I know is don't be too surprised when this is still up after 3 years or so.

I doubt they've sold a bunch of those :lol :dunno

just look at what open es did to stormtrooper pf even after all this time, one of the most popular characters..in existence. It's going for at least a 20% discount and still noone wants it, all because sideshow made it open es. Otherwise they would be a very sought out statue.

Well who ever really wants one can pick it up at a decent price, that's a plus IMO, I want to pick one up never mind if it climes or not.

Nobody wants to buy a statue for full price from the distributor when they can get it cheaper elsewhere.

Soo, I actually wrote an email to SSC about the "limited edition" title. I wanted confirmation that this was an open ES. So, I heard back and although it is open and it is not decided when they will stop producing it, it will be closed at some point. She then went on to say that their limited editions have mostly been under 1000 pieces! Of course, I highly doubt that will be the case with hulk because I'm guessing he's got to have sold close to that already...maybe? In any case, if they do stick to that theory, this baby probably won't be on open ES as long as we all may think. I certainly don't see it being like the LSF statues where you can get one 2-3 years later readily. So, for those of you waiting on aftermarket prices because you think this will be open ES for years to come, food for thought. I can see them closing this thing a lot earlier than we all think.

I emailed Sideshow citing the same concern and I got a similar response that it is an open but limited edition meaning that it will be closed at a later date. The same comment was made that previous limited edition items all had an edition size of under 1,000 pieces. But surely they would have sold close to 1,000 of these by now?

So SS are claiming that their 'open' limited editions sell less than a thousand pieces? :lol Are they having a laugh?!
Calling these pieces limited edition is a joke in itself, the only limit is how many they can sell.
I couldn't resist this despite the open ES but I seriously think this will be my last purchase of a SS piece.
As far as I'm concerned they can, and will, do what they want in the future. Greed may cost them a lot of business.
These are meant to be high end truely limited edition, NUMBERED, collectables not stack them high, sell as many as possible.

Sorry forgot to mention that they also confirmed the statues will not be numbered.

Yeh they're definitely gonna stick to their 1000 statue limit, especially with no numbering.:monkey3:monkey3 I'm not saying it's a bad thing cause I'm not a reseller, in fact it's a good thing cause that means I could buy it for the cheap later, but the es is definitely a con with this statue for those who are interested in real limited editions.

:exactly:

Bottom Line: Let's make one thing perfectly clear:

SS created non-numbered, date-limited, open/limited es to make things easier for them, reduce costs, and make more funds.

This particular policy has NOTHING to do with the collector. If it did, it would have a numbered edition, from the beginning of the order process, not somewhere down the middle where we had to guess.

Also, the price on this piece forces the hand on the collector to lay up big dollars up front, so, again for SS, this ensures they will get enough collectors paying the $ on a popular piece and keeping it between 1 000 to 2 000 pieces.

Unbelievable.

yeah right...will be years if ever.

The ES for the hulk will be much higher than 2000, keep in mind it's not just the initial orders. For such a popular character and the success of the movies, people will be buying this throughout the years. Look at the batman pf ex, it was soldout within 1-2 weeks with a 2000 es. Hulk is much much more popular and will be on sale for years. I am confident the es will easily hit 5000+ when all said & done.

All this smoke & mirror about we will not put a number on it but it will be limited and will stop producing them in the future, but wont tell you when etc..is just exactly that - BS.

I disagree that hulk is more popular than batman. Hulk maquette also costs a lot more than the batman PF. Also, with it being open ES, many people will wait for aftermarket sales to save a few bucks. There is no way this will hit 5000. In fact, keeping it open ES will prob help keep the ES lower than that.

$650 vs $400 isnt that big a difference. There is no logic to argue about popularity or es as neither of us can prove our point. But -in my opinion- hulk is much more popular & in demand than that blue/grey batman pf, it's back up by being hulk, the existing & upcoming movies, and size. I am willing to bet my house the es will be 5000+ if they left it for sale for a few years. This is the only 1/4 store shelf hulk on the market right now...
