I'm thinking the chances of them releasing a new MK III aren't looking too good now. With the MK VII on the way, MK VIII (or more) in IM3 right behind and Avengers 2 close on the heels, HT may think it not a wise choice.

I hope I'm wrong, but where does it seems logical to do so without hurting the sales of other MKs?

Well they are re releasing the Joker right before the Dark Knight Rises comes out so I don't think its to far of a stretch to think they will do it sometime. maybe before or around Iron Man 3?

I own the first Mark III and it sucks ass. The BD version is even worse. Can't wait for HT to give it a much needed update.

Do you own either one? I have the first MIII standing proudly next to the new AU MII, and it holds up pretty damn well.

Yeah I used to own the 1st MK III which has long gone. I still own the BD MK III & it's in it's box in the attic where it belongs lol but as long as your happy with it that's all that matters :)

They're doing a Mark I 2.0.... of course they'll do the Mark III again :)

small details and quality/production issues aside, isn't the Mark IV the same as the Mark III, only with slightly different and more glossy paint job? I own neither, just the Mark II AU, Mark V, Mark VI, and War Machine. Wanted the Mark IV with gantry but can't afford it.

no,there is a big difference

broadly similar but from a surfacing and detailing perspective completely different;

I don't know, I suspect releasing it with Iron Monger would be the most logical thing to do. Why produce and release a new Mark II and not simply change the paint job and release a new Mark III? At the rate these things are released we won't get anything in hand from IM3 until many months after its release, whereas a new Mark III could ship relatively soon. I hope they do another, I picked up the Avengers Mark VI and now I'm officially hooked :lol

Does have to be said the difference is minimal at best, dunno if I'd be on board with a new Mark III or not. Depends on the package it comes with (i.e. new Tony Stark HS etc etc)

Again, because HT do not like to reuse old parts. With the exception of the reissued tumbler and batpod and the Avengers Mk VI (which was a bad rush job) if they release a new figure it's almost certainly a whole new figure. People always assume that HT's only motivation is profit. I still believe they have as much interest in artistic challenges and doing what they enjoy as they do in making money. That is, after all, why Howard Chan started the company in the first place.

You forgot the Mark I 2.0...but imo ithe 2.0 will be a vast improvement over the first version (in terms of paint apps, downey sculpt and additional accessories) and am glad they decided to re-release it for peeps like me who missed out on the first release. :clap

picked this one up recently. it may not be the best iron man out there, but it's still definitely a great figure. i'm not a huge fan of the giant base, i'll probably just buy one of the led bases for display.

Just picked this up in my travels, and I gotta say I am very happy with the purchase. Sorry for the low quality pics from my hotel room.

:yess:

WAT? Are we looking at the same picture here?

hmm has anyone ever put a Mark IV or VI head on the Mark III to see if the helmet proportions would look better? But isn't the Mark III a darker shade of red than the latter?
