I'm not even excited for MGS sequels anymore, since their always Big Boss as the protagonist. His death in MGS4 should of been more painful.

Blasphemy...Blasphemy I tell you :panic:

I have actually always liked Snake aka Big Boss more than his "son". Though Solid Snake is cool in MGS2, you can't actually play him. You are forced to play with that Emo *********.

So if that really is Peace walker sequel, then I'm happy. Well, not if it is a PS3 exclusive.

Technically, Big Boss is a Snake clone. I'm sick and tired of playing his mind numbing story about his sick obsession with The Boss.

And Peace Walker had a ____ing terrible story.

Agree/Disagree with both of you. I find Big Boss games/stories interesting but much prefer Solid. I hope MGS 5 is a remake of the nintendo games and you will play as Solid Snake. I always thought it was BS you only get to play the series main character for 2 of the 6 main games.

How funny would it be seeing BB recruit all these people and make friends with them and then you get to kill all of them playing as Solid Snake

^Except, you know, in MGS 2, it was revealed that the Patriots and those in the Wiseman's commitee died 100 years ago (from the timeline of MGS 2). Kojima would never make a storyline that simple. His trademark is in creating unpredictable, mind-numbing plot twists that are hard to follow.

Ofcourse nothing is that simple in MGS, i just think that is an awesome initial setup for the MGS2 sequel that never happened.

They really need to bring back SolidSnake full force like he was in MGS1 and 2. I want his amazing one liners from MGS1 and how in charge attidute he had in MGS2, BigBoss never had his depth of character either. He seems to have run his course yet there is still loads for Solid to do

I want the next game to focus on Grey Fox. Big Boss could be a supporting lead character and maybe it could provide us a modern take on some of the events surrounding the first and second Metal Gear games.

Everyone ____s on Portable Ops but it advanced the story and Peace Walker didn't. We got to see where Gray Fox came from and the motivation for Outer Heaven. Peace Walker was very unnecessary.

I haven't even been able to finish Peace Walker. The whole The Boss AI thing was such a slap in the face to MGS3 in my opinion that I can't bring myself to keep playing. It's an insulting "plot twist"

I would have preferred if those plot points never existed. It made Grey Foxs character cheap and BigBoss totally unimaginative.
While Peace walker had stupid-ness (like more advanced Metal Gears in the 70s:slap) at least it was fun and well developed

I am more of a Big Boss/Naked Snake fan, as I love the Cold War & Vietnam era for 1/6 collectibles. Big Boss is also the original Snake (based on the timeline that Kojima created), and I got into MGS when MGS3 came out, and backtracked from there.

I agree that Peace Walker's plot was too simple compared to the other MGS games. What I like about it is the gameplay & controls.

My theory is that Hideo Kojima is finding it hard to make a story too advanced into the future. If he makes a sequel out of MGS5, that will mean an era close to laser guns, hybrid transportation & a Liquid-Metal type of Metal Gear (what other advancements can he think of for his Metal Gear after MGS4?). He is milking the "gaps" in the MGS chronicles first before thinking of adding onto MGS4.

I hope we do get to the point where we get a game wherein we see the origins of Solid Snake (MGS1 starts with him coming out of retirement, so he's a seasoned veteran). Who knows? Maybe MGS5 will include Solid Snake's origins at the end of the string of missions? :clap

If it's Solid, then i hope it's a game with a young Solid set in Zanzibar land.

We don't know what Hideo means by that he's not done with Snake,he might be a part of MGS5 but not a playable character perhaps?

Well since it's set right before Metal Gear 1, it might be a child version of Snake. It's set in the 1980's and Snake was born in 1972. I just really hope the whole point of this MGS5 is to set up a Metal Gear 1 and 2 remake.

That's what the majority of us want, but we won't get it. We'll probabaly end up with Old Snake wheelchair racing on the PSP or something.

Ummm...did you mean that Solid Snake is a Big Boss clone. I mean Big Boss aka (Naked) Snake was an "ordinary" man, although CIA black ops operative and former green beret. Not trying to be saucy. I just thought that have I really missed something important :D I haven't played portable ops.

I don't know if the story of PW is f:ing terrible, but granted that it isn't that great either. However I also like the gameplay and controls. I just like to study stuff and build my base. There is lots of fun extra ops to do.

What actually makes me a such a big Big Boss fan is the MGS3. I just think it is still the best MGS game. I like the plot and it has many cool characters and 60's Snake is just so cool. I just love it.

It might not be a bad idea to have remake of MG 1 and 2. I just hope that young Solid Snake isn't going to be a whining _____ like Raiden, who needs his gilrfriend to hold his hand through the main mission. That would be horrible.

^^ i Actually Liked MGS2 and playing as Raiden, i didn't like the idea of Rose Bringing their relationship issues during the mission i thought "this actually not a good time to bring these issues in a mission"

and MGS3 was totally awesome and it's become one of my favorite games, and now making me want to play MGS4, but i can't justify buying a PS3 for the sake of just 1 game .
