yea i didnt think he looked very good. up close the paint was very matte and looked far cheaper in quality to the mark III. i took a couple pics but was very underwhelmed...i will pass on this guy. the arc looked cartoony and cheap as well.

yes.. this is how he would look at most homes.. flat and boring. They did a good job with lighting and things for the PO to look shiney.

Reveal the ammo thingymajigs! Need to see what these look like when removed! :lecture

I think the ammo things are just cartridges to the sides of his head. I think those just come off. The arc is final for now unless they change it. That's how it looked in the reveal pics too. The paint is way less glossy than the iii. Paintjob looked really cheap in person. It looked like painted plastic as opposed to the mark iii or even war machine. I wanted to like this but it really turned me off.

That paint is really turning me off for this piece. Looks like someone painted a cheap recast with cheap paint :dunno

i wasnt going to post my pics of these cuz i didnt like the piece but you can check em out and decide for yourself. the paintjob really killed it for me. it also may be a combination of cheaper materials too. i just hated the paintjob and the way the arc looked....very disappointed.

The more i look at it, the more i just wanna stick to arms on either side...just looks to bulky around the trapezuis area and therfore doesnt look right without delts (sorry for the technical musculature words) :wave

I really do go with someone elses opinion that the arc is a prototype and not the finished article yet. So much detail went into War Machine's arc that it would be astonishing to think that Sideshow would design an arc that resembles a decal!

Oh, and at least there no dents in the face unlike the sideshow reveal pics a few weeks ago

Is there any way you guys there at the show can give feedback and ask if the final paint job will be glossier? Oh and also about why the arc isn't similar to War Machine's.:monkey3

:goodpost::exactly:
with it still being in production I have hopes this isn't what the final product will look like.

You know actually, to be honest to me it looks good as is. It's still metallic and just doesn't have a high gloss finish.

Watching some scenes from the movie, IM never really looks that glossy and has more of a metallic shine like in one of the more recent pictures sarakawa posted.

The following picture of the Mark VII bust by sarakawa looks similar to how IM looks in the pictures below it.

Now that I think about it, I remember seeing the Mark III bust in person recently and it wasn't exactly super shiny/glossy. I also remember there were people using car wax on their busts and buffing them to get the results they wanted. If you guys want a super glossy IM bust, the Mark VI Legendary Scale Bust looks like it has a glossier finish.

Regarding the arc, it's actually not too big a deal for me. I'm just curious to see if they'll make it look like War Machine's in the end. If it's the same as War Machine's that would be great but it is just a painted version of the details of the arc and not actually sculpted right?

The problem I encounter with HT Iron Man figures is that yes they do have the arc components on the figure but when you turn the lights on you still see the arc which doesn't look that great. With the solid white in the arc window the light is uniform and actually looks like it fills the window. Personally, I'd rather have it look full.

Goddamnit I planned on buying this! Now people say it looks cheap, which it really does. I don't see it as looking metal at all. This ComicCon is really busting my balls for excitement

I've actually got a lot more love for this now I've seen 'in hand' pics. Not sure my house has room for both this and the Mark VI LSB though....

To be honest it's grown on me. I wish they would fix the arc reactor. If I do buy it, it'll be after the 1st pieces are in hand.

I don't want a messed up paint job...

I'd really have to see some reviews of it first, thats a hell of a lot of $$ to spend, and people who have seen it say its not looking to quality but who knows maybe it will see some improvement

About 3 minutes in is the Mark VII bust

Hmmm...well I think the video actually made the bust look better. It looked more metal than some of the iPhone photos I saw.

The arc is sorta strange, though. Why did they give it that light blue tint?
