That's a travesty the eFX shield will be fiberglass and not machined aluminum :monkey2 and it is not battle weathered either. That Chris Fields one looks so badass.

To be fair, they used a fiberglass shield in the movies as well (there were 3 different shields, made with 3 different types of material).

Yeah, I definitely picked out the stunt shields in THE AVENGERS on my 3rd viewing (several shots in the final battle). Interestingly, they're much less detailed and more "flat" than the hero shield. It doesn't look cut or spun at all. I think eFX struck a nice balance with theirs, actually.

But it's the Hero prop that is the most accurate representation of what the shield should should really look like: Machined aluminum as seen in the scene with Howard Stark and Peggy. Most of the stunt ones are seen from a distance or during action and detail isn't as clear or as noticeable as the closeups on the Hero prop. If you're going to have a prop replica on display in your collection it had better be just as detailed and accurate and have the heft and weight of the Hero prop as well as weathering since we never see the fully painted shield without battle weathering. They should also make an unweathered and unpainted plain aluminimum model as well.

This is suppose to be 1:1 wearable items?

I wonder if the IM helmet will fit a 24" head. It looks small.

In the video, they mention that they aren't made to be wearable... but if someone should want to put it on...

The only thing I would buy would be the IM helmet with the ability to do everything they are trying to do.

If I can't wear it though, 24inch head and all, then I will not be buying it.

Ok maybe ill buy a shield.

Edit: Actually, I wonder if some cutting to the IM helmet by making it 2-3 pieces(counting the removeable face) might make it wearable...

I read somewhere that RDJ has a 22" head. Not sure how reliable that information is though. Regardless, I don't think it will fit me.

It is extremely doubtful that a 24" head will fit in it. 24" heads don't seem to fit in a lot of the replica helmets (ones that claim screen prop lineage).

I also heard/read this somewhere

In fact i think the chap from eFX mentions that RDJ has a small head on the video where the replicas are on display. Pretty sure it's in this thread.

He also makes a very valid point that they are ultimately a prop maker, not a costume maker, so if you've got a big head, this ain't gonna fit.

Although without a full costume, it wouldn't be fun to wear it anyway. Would it?

(that's a silly question)

Definitely interested in the Iron Man helmet and Cap shield, at least. As I said, I have one of the spun aluminum shields from Chris Fields (which is amazing and flawless) but pending costs I'll get the eFX stunt shield replica as well and weather it up with battle damage. :yess:

So much for pre-order on April and release on summer. What a joke of company man! Same story all the time!

Well, regardless, I just got this from them:

Hope to see all of you in San Diego!

We'll see if they can at least print posters in time.

I want them to release the damn Iron Man helmet! Only thing keeping me from buying on of the many amazing ones RPF is I know how accurate this will be.
