I wish Sideshow would not have given us this choice of two very different looking PFs.

This I have to disagree with respectfully. I loved the different EX option like the Gray Hulk and Green Hulk for example and am glad we're seeing it again. For those who can afford it you have two very different looks and collectors get a choice without having to resort to variants offerings down the line.

Personally I'm a bit annoyed of these being offered in a package deal. If it were up to me I'd have offered them separately with a price break for those who "bundled" with a Tatooine base for the regulars and maybe a Yavin Ceremonial floor dual base for the Ex.

I only want Artoo and having to get them both is a little troubling. I might have bought both Artoos whereas I'd have never bought two full sets (Exclusive and Regular)

I'm really interested in the ES on this. It just seems absurd that they would feel obligated to shut down the preorders because they can't make enough of these for the EX version. Could it be that the paint job is difficult to keep so clean? I can't imagine that 4000 people tried ordering and thus they had to shut it down that fast. I didnt preorder joker but can anyone remember how fast that one sold out? The last preorder I participated in that sold out relatively quickly was Rogue and that was still a whole day or 2 if I remember correctly. Why would this sell out so fast? I mean, they are making a bunch of the regular versions so clearly its not the parts.

Sideshow has said they always have a number in mind something like "3000" or "550" for every EX. If the orders cross that hypothetical number they close it and usually round up. So if 3468 people ordered the Ex you might see a 3500 ES with the rest of the people getting WL conversions. If they just let them run for a couple of day you might get 6,000 ES for the Ex but only 4,000 for the Reg making it a bit awkward. They have to keep things somewhat limited.

I would only buy them at this price if 3po was made of real gold and r2d2 had a built in vacuum and cleaned my floors. :lol

But they look good. Congrats to all those who bought one and are happy! ;)

Ok here is my own personal therory.

Both the reg and the EX will come with individual "black" bases

They will also come with a larger base to display both

Reg will have the tatooine version

and the EX will have the "special' Yavin version

I say this because the photos of the Ex base are not Yavin
The scene in Star Wars on Yavin when they were both cleaned up had a stone floor

And lets face it. It makes no sense to not offer a base that you can place both on. And since R2 is listed on both as having working wheels I am guessing this means he is movable and so you can place him closer to 3PO

Not seeing the issue with the price. Light up features and two 1/4 scale figures. Sure it would have been nice if they were cheaper but this was the price I was expecting.

perhaps I would feel different if I did not sell a bunch of stuff to get ready for this and the Hulk Maquette that is coming out.

Actually, notifications were sent out. If you sign up for alerts on the SDCC page you will get emails for all the new announcements, product pre-orders etc. based on your preferences. I got a notification in my email about these going up, just didn't realize the EX would sell out so fast.

No email notification here.

I'm signed up for everything, except Sideshow Experience and Lego. Guess these are new, they are checked now.

That's just another failure if the email came to those who have Sideshow Experience checked.

I got the Hawkeye pre order email on 6/25, but no Star Wars.

Another thing is why did the orders open at 9:15am Pacific time? Why the change? Every week, orders open around Noon Pacific time. So again, why the change?

So all of a sudden they start selling 3 hours earlier than 'normal'.

I don't know, this is just a big mess. Someone is failing at SS. I mean, this is what they do, they sell statues, they do one thing. Why is it so difficult for them ?

The time change on POs is strictly due to the upcoming SDCC - they roll out a bunch of new product, some for ordering, some for previews. The products for ordering adhere to no set schedule like the newsletter.

Hope so! Be great.

So do they always have a set time for release? So do they do this crap every year for sdcc? I thought the PF were like all the rest and would stick around at least a few hours to a few days. What's going on SS?

I agree but for me $750 is to much for R2-D2.

Now if anyone want to figure out a split of the EX let me know.
