I agree with the general point about HT not going for any interesting licenses, just following the latest summer blockbusters for the most part

They're doing what sells, and Batman sells, and Iron Man and the other Marvel stuff has sold . So it makes sense they go after those franchises. They did also try Sucker Punch, and did Inglourious Basterds. And they aren't giving up on classic franchises like Terminator, Predator and (reportedly) RoboCop and BTTF. Not sure how much esoteric stuff has come out recently that would make financial sense for them.

I grew up reading the batman comics and watching the Batman animated series. I loved the '89 bats and returns and the original batmobile.
