This is great news to hear that along with the maquette line (which I don't collect), there is still focus and development on the PF line. I would really love a SARUMAN (which I understand is in development already), and GIMLI (to go with my Legolas and Aragorn PF's)...

I would easily be tempted by BOROMIR, SAM, MERRY and PIPPIN (and hopefully a new Frodo with better sculpt)...

I hope another Uruk-Hai will be coming down the road too to display with the Mordor and Moria Orcs. Missed out on Berserker and am not interested in paying over $1000 on Evil-Bay for one.

As for LOTR news. I can tell you that something big and cool will be riding in, in the near future that should give much delight to many (if not all) 'The Lord of the Rings' collectors. You've all been very patient and I think you'll be very excited with what will be revealed.

Is it the near future yet?

Hey guys, I was hoping that several things could be confirmed if that is ok. When will we see Ring Wraith on Steed, Cave Troll, Juggernaut and Sauron Premium Format updates?

You’ll see the Dark Rider of Mordor Premium Format figure between now and SDCC 2012. Cave Troll and Juggy are having a contest to see which beefcake, big boy will appear next, and so far it’s a pretty even battle. As for Sauron – well, a dark lord will appear precisely when he is ready, and not a moment before…

Here is some news.

My Merry figure is going to be awesome when Skiman finishes it! :nana:

PASTE:

Hello sideshow, in the SDCC July 2011 video Mr Tom Gilliland specifically promised to complete the fellowship for the 1/5 maquette series.

Based on this I have purchased every single lotr maquette release so far, they are all wonderful statues however it's been more than 6 months without any updates regarding this line.

Can you please give us a status update regarding the remaining 2x hobbit duos for this series and when they will be released. Many fans including myself are eagerly waiting and getting very nervous over such a long gap of silence.

Thank you

Juggernaut is an oversized villain from the Marvel X-Men Comics. Not related to LOTR but may be in a similar scale to a Cave Troll. Sideshow has suggested that Premium Format Cave Troll may be in the design plan at some point, and a lot of us have speculated about the size and costs, but nothing concrete yet.

WOW is this hand made? :clap Merry likeness is spot on, looks like he's saying 'but i want to fight, all my friends are'
i have Juggy on pre-order, he looks badass! he's not LOTR but kicks ass :rock

sadly i have no room for a ringwraith on steed PF so i've bought the Sideshow Weta bust from a friend.

So I got a chance to go to C2E2 in Chicago today, and met Sean Astin. His fees for autographs were a little steep ($40 per item) so I only got two of the many items I brought signed. He signed my plaque for the United Cutlery Sting sword and the my Fellowship of the Ring Theatrical poster, and he couldn't have been a nicer guy.

I let him know that Sam is my favorite character of the films, as they were clear to make him heroic and honest, and not as doltish as he appeared in the Bakshi animated film. Sam is the heart of the books and to me one of the biggest heroes of the stories. I told him of our e-mail campaign to get a 1/4 scale Sam statue made, and he was asked why it hasn't been made yet. We talked about the fact that hobbits might not be as exciting as monsters or swordsman, but are the heart of the books. I let him know that I hope I get to meet him again after Sideshow has made the Sam Premium Format and get that signed as well. If you are around Chicago, make the trip, the show was a lot of fun!!!

$40 for a sigi  at that rate i'd only get 1 sigi. congrats Seaward :hi5:

I was only going to get one signature on the Sting plaque, but it is a little smaller, so it would be limited as to who else could sign on it. I figured the Fellowship posted could be a good starting point to collect other signatures should other people start doing the convention circuit too.

I brought the Blu-rays, and six other posters, but his prices were just too steep. He was really nice though, and was nice to spend time with all of the fans who were forking over the dough.
