Its no more a ghost town than the Indiana Jones or Lord of The Rings sections and there is no talk of getting rid of those.

Im not sure how the specificity of the topics is confusing at all or any justification for it's deletion.

:goodpost:

We need more specialised forums not less. The "General Collectibles" forum is way too unwieldy.

The people voting against this are probably people that never ever use it and thus it has exactly zero impact on their use of the forum as a whole.

Edit: Old Grandpa also makes some excellent points in post on Page 5.

No! Please don't close whedonville! While I don't post here all the time, this is the first place I visit when I log on to the forum to check out what's going on, I think moving it to a general forum is a terrible idea and agree with the majority that, that's already crowded enough as it is.

I have never posted in this forum. Not once. So I thought it was important for me to throw in my 2 cents worth.

Shut it down and make a Darth Cruel section.

Call it "Cruel's World" and then add "For all greatness that is Darth Cruel. Feel free to post negative stuff as well...if you can find any."

:monkey3

If you are going to eliminate a section of the forum is should be the "Ask Sideshow" and "Product Request" sections.

We all know that Sideshow reps stopped listening to us "Freaks" a long time ago.

Or just move Ask Sideshow and Product Request boards to Forum Questions and Suggestions since nobody reads the rules and posts Sideshow questions and product requests there almost weekly. :huh

What ridiculous idea. :cuckoo: :gah:
I disagree with the perception that the thread is not used, and obviously other members who don't bother coming here will vote for it to be closed. You don't see me going to the Star Wars or Marvel sections demanding it be closed, just because I "never post in there" or because it doesn't interest me. Pfff.
Besides, I think if Whedonville will confuse new members, then they deserve to be confused. Collectors know this stuff.
I only use this board for the LOTR and Whedonville threads, so if one of them is closed then there's no point for me to come here really.
Can't see how the thread is such a bother to people - just leave it for crying out loud!!!! :dunno :ignore:

I feel like Whedonville gets dragged out onto the gallows and the crowd is asked for a thumbs up or thumbs down. Its just a matter of when not if.

The argument for integration is simply one of having the navigation of the forum being intuitive.

Which is unfortunate...especially when this part of the board causes zero problems. Mods never have to come into this forum and close threads. The people that post in this thread aren't forum troublemakers. It makes zero sense that this board in particular is singled out and threatened with closure...especially when SSC still creates pieces for the Buffy license. Blaming confusion on the Avengers and Cabin In The Woods is a blatant cop out. Like I said before, this is Dave's ship to steer. If he's going to close this part of the forum, he's going to close it down. It's obvious that this section is making him unsatified when he looks at the entire forum as a whole.

While I agree that Hot Toys deserves it's place in this forum, the last time I checked...this place is called the Sideshow Freaks Forum. This place is starting to deviate from what it was originally created for and to me...it's a little disheartening. A little organization would go a long way, but I feel the same people calling for the Whedonville part of the forum to be closed will climb out of their hypocritical little holes and complain over change or any kind of reorganization.

Yes! I'm all for streamlining. Cut this mutha.

And believe it or not, I see no reason to keep the INDIANA JONES section either. Nothing in the forseeable future. I think the few threads there like here that people actually frequent could be found easy enough in the General Area.

Serenity would go into the Aliens & Robots section anyway, Buffy into Horror?

Please Don't Close it!!

The last thing I'd want is to get jumped on by some of the less, how can I say this, understanding patrons in the general section.

I'm surprised that after Cabins opened that now folks are trying to get this section shut down. You'd think being more mainstream would be a help not a hinderance.

Also I find it funny that people that never seem post in this section now suddenly appear to demand it be shut down.

To the last part, because ignorance is bliss. This forum has its place. Can I ask, is it such a negative for the Freaks forum to keep it going? I can take it or leave it. My first time posting on Freaks was on Whedonville. In the end, life will go on whether course you choose to take.

That would be very confusing, considering there are no aliens or robots in Firefly/Serenity. But I can see it fit in a sci-fi section. Is there one of those?

I feel hesitant to putting Buffy in horror, since it's not really a show focused on scaring people, but I guess that's where people would go looking for it.

Also, if the custom section is that crowded, could it be divided into different sections? Horror, sci fi, fantasy, etc etc?

Can we ask the question, do we really need Disneyana then? Or how about the General Movies/TV and Movies and TV sections, arent those 2 basically the same thing?
I think Hot Toys, Sideshow Products and Enterbay (at the rate they are releasing or 'announcing' things), should all have their own sections, its a nightmare looking through general section and seeing HT HT and more HT then Enterbay and PF's all mixed in with each other....
If you get rid of Whedonville then you need to get rid of others and totally change the site layout.

Speaking of streamlining, I've often wondered why there's a "general movies and TV" and "Movies and TV" threads. Are these not the same thing ?

Trying to shoe horn everything into General, Aliens and Robots, and Horror is ridiculous. Besides, it seems like Horror is only for Jason, Freddy and the old Universal and Aliens and Robots is only for Terminator, Predator and Aliens.

You'd think Dr Who would be in there too, but nope.

Anyway, the opinions that really matter in this are those of the people that actually read the topics. People who read about Buffy or Serenity know where to go to find those threads. And they are easy to find. Same with Indiana Jones, GI Joe, Lord of the Rings, etc.

If anything, I'd break out Buffy and Serenity into their own sections.

A lot of posters who think the forums should be merged probably read every post ever made here. Not every person is like that. To force people into scanning through 200 threads just to find the few about Serenity or Buffy is rude.

I'm a fan of Indiana Jones and LOTR, but I don't feel the need to read them every day.

I go in there once a week or 2 and catch up.

When I do that in the General Section its just impossible to do so in a logical way. It got to the point I hate going into the General section, and it aint the HT threads that make me feel that way, its just too disorganized.

why not put up polls in all the other sections to see if the majority of people want them closed down? Its pretty clear that people who use and visit the section regularly will want it to stay open but those that don't will vote to close it. I visit about 6 forums on a regular basis, Whedonville being one of them. I vote we close down all the other ones since I don't visit them. :dunno
