I'm very interested in the eFX Marvel licensing. I know that at Master Replicas, they had a very extensive plan for Marvel that never came through, the ideas for props, statues, scenes, etc was very lengthy and what did come out was subpar. I remember the issues over Marvel allowing them to change the Spider-Man 3 mask replica once the coloring turned out to be flat black instead of charcoal grey to which why it's inaccurate, or their Church scene again not being allowed to be changed to be more accurate. I'll be watching these with much anticipation but realistically I've gone the customs route with so much stuff, I'm not sure going mass produced even with the artisans at eFX will tempt me much.

Many things have changed since the MR days! Back then we only had access to photos and never the actual props. Times have changed and we now have access to the original props, even the original molds, so there are no "assumptions" or guessing in this new line or replicas!

Excellent news. I'll buy that Cap shield just because I'm ____ and prefer to have "authentic licensed" stuff and will turn my "Chris Shield" into a battle damaged version:rock

We are really excited to be the new worldwide licensee for MARVEL prop replicas and collectibles. Our license does not only include the upcoming Avengers movie, it includes some of the previous MARVEL films and the comic book universe!

Let me give you a little insight into our new line of prop replicas. These fall into our "Legend" series since all of the props and helmet prototypes were made from the ORIGINAL molds from the ORIGINAL prop makers! So, we would like to extend a very special thank you to Studio Art and Technology (Thor Hammer - Avengers version and the Captain America Shield including all of the straps and hardware), Ironhead (Thor and Captain America Helmets) and Legacy (formerly Stan Winston Studios) (Iron Man helmet original molds)

More to come!

Oh, BTW, the Captain America helmet will come with cowl, unfortunately, we did not have time to finish it for this picture.

Well. I'm Sold on the helmets

I posted this on the RPF and Chris, who made the Cap shield that's been posted previously, has stated that eFX will apparently be making the shield out of resin

He went on to say that this may very well change, but if that is the case then it's a little disappointing that it won't be a spun metal shield
As for thors helmet, the actual movie prop was electroplated so wasn't metal to begin with so it should be pretty much the same

Man I can't wait to get that helmet! Not really after the Iron Man or Cap helmet. Maybe Caps depending on price

Not paying $1500 for a resin shield. I'll keep my Chris Fields replica.

The battle-damaged shield at NYC TRU was not resin (or didn't appear to be resin to me).

Please only rely on information from us or one of our authorized retailers, everything else are just rumors or assumptions!

The Shield will not be $1500, the press release just tells the price range of items that we may be doing. . .

The Thor helmet was not plated, it was actually painted. . .

And yes, our first shield will be made in fiberglass. The fiberglass version was the primary prop used in the filming of the Avengers. The aluminum ones were too heavy and they were too easily damaged!

Thanks!

Bryan

Hmmm...makes me wish eFX was in my own backyard like MR was. If eFX has the same enthusiasm that was at MR now with access to props the film stuff will be amazing but what interested the most was the ideas for the comic based props, now those are what I wished actually came out!

Huh, Bryan is the eFX Inc on here? Interesting....he is definitely the one to pester about Star Wars stuff too. ;) Is Gary at eFX? I remember he was amazingly excited about the prospects of Marvel stuff. Too bad Keith and Amy aren't there....they were my ins. :lol

Bryan, welcome to the Sideshow Freaks board! I think there's plenty to keep you busy in the Star Wars forum. :naughty

And congrats on the Marvel license! :duff

If you produce the one from Captain America (the one at TRU), I'll buy that one. :yess:

Thanks for the info!

It's nice to actual be able to communicate with the guys that make this stuff

As you mentioned, a lot of stuff is rumours so it's good to get the details from the horses mouth so to speak

So Thors helmet was just painted? It looks so even! Although you may have been referring to your replica, I meant the actual movie one. But then again I only got told that from someone over at the the RPF so it may have been wrong

Thanks for the details though

What's the timeframe for these replicas?

(tomorrow would be fantastic if you don't mind!:lol)

Also, add a Mark II Helmet to your Legends line.

The screen used Thor helmet was also painted! I specifically asked the guys at Ironhead about that! The one that i saw at Comic Con last year, I could have sworn it looked plated, but NO! it was painted!

Bryan, WELCOME!!
This board desperately needs your input!

Thank you for being here and answering our question.

I know EFX quality will be the best ever! Best of luck to you guys. I am sure I will be buying these from you!

Oh wow, someone from eFx is actually here to answer to our questions. I wish other companies would follow this approach and take the time to hear the costumers. Since you have been so kind to reply to our comments could you please inform us if the Iron Man Helmet has a removable/movable face plate and also if they eyes light up? If so, it's a home run. Add that to the fact that it is made from the same mold as the one in movie and you got yourself a sale from me.

Also, you say eFX will be working on other pieces from previous movies. Can we expect to see a replica of the Iron Man Arc Reactor?

Welcome Bryan!

Definitely excited to see what you guys pump out as far as comic based stuff. I am in without question for a Cap comic shield.
