No, Spiderman 3 was terrible.. just too bad compared to Spiderman 2.. The fact that MJ was kidnaped by 3rd time, the dances, the emo look of Peter, the bad then good sandman, the fact they changed the murderer of Ben Parker, the bad then good Harry, the symbiote came from nowhere, Venom wasn't well done...

No they were not meant to be funny. They were meant to show Peter almost as a drug addict or alcoholic would behave. Total disregard for anything and everyone. Forget the stupid "I'm evil when I swoosh my hair down" thing and focus on what's important. The message that addiction is bad, mmkay.

They were cheesy but still reflected what would happen to Pete if he went down the dark path he could have when Uncle Ben was taken from him.

Just goes to show how well they raised him but even their guidance would be no match for addiction either Symbiote, drug, or otherwise.

I thought it was great. Cheesy, but great.

Yes. The guy he thought shot uncle Ben to carjack him and subsequently fought and fell to his death was not actually the guy who shot him, according to spiderman 3. It was actually Flint Marco aka sandman when the other guy bumped into him making the gun go off. Total accident? Maybe.

You can choose to look at it as a villain underutilized or as a depth to the character that shows not all bad guys are truly bad. It isn't always black and white. There is a lot of grey. Especially for our hero.

Maybe we are just used to EVIL villains like Joker, and Green Goblin. We forget that some villains have reasons, albeit misguided, for what they think is the right thing to do. Vader comes to mind.

I just hope the final product is slim like this. I just bought the red and blue suit one and I dont like it, it looks too big and muscular.

I dont like the line where the head sculpt gets changed but I guess they had to have some kind of break for it to happen...

Looks like the same body to me. Black clothing has a slimming effect after all.

Sorry if it's been mentioned yet, but do we know when this is coming out? I think I recall hearing May, but I'm not sure...just hope its not too close to Iron Monger...

Agreed on all counts, although Harry went from bad to good to bad and back to good again - all in the same film

Anyone think this figure would be that much better if the suit was a spandex material instead of fabric?

As i recall from the film the black suit had a gloss to it so it didn't look fabricky to me

I posted this earlier in this thread. It's a link to a YouTube video I recorded on my phone of the behind the scenes documentary on the making of the costume.

It specifically states that it is the same fabric, spandex or lycra, they used in the first movie but black. Then they thermo print the design of the muscle shading into the fabric. Then they screen print the honeycomb design overtop of the fabric shiny to give it that oily wet leathery look. So yes it looks shiny but it's not the actual material it's the screen printed pattern on top that's shiny.

Even though I can't see the shine that well in the pics I am confident Hot Toys will be able to achieve the look we all want to see.

It is spandex. Just like the R&B spidey. It's a four way stretch fabric aka Lycra. Spandex is just a brand name for one company's Lycra.

That's funny. I won't be missing this release. No matter what. Well, unless they announce a green goblin. Or a doc Ock. Or a venom. Or a sandman. But other than that I won't miss this one.
