Sooooo, about that ToD wave with Mine Cart environment.

What the heck happened??

From today's Q&A:

Q:With Episode I being released in 3D in theaters in 2012, will there be any EPI Sideshow representation? A 1:6 Jar Jar Binks or Anakin Skywalker would be very welcome, and it was said in the Indiana Jones Q&A that a 1:6 “kid” body was under development for Short Round that could be used for lil’ Annie.

A:Yah, our development on the Short Round has hit a snag, so the Annie likelihood may be a bit further off too....

I bet the 1:6 line is dead in the water. If Short Round isn't coming to pass that means that even the mine cart environment probably won't go anywhere.

just saw this today, not sure if it's been posted yet.

I wish we had the chance to purchase this one, but the comments make it sound doubtful.

Well, this certainly looks like SS is throwing in the towel. They said a while back that they were having problems developing the kid body for Short Round.

gaaaaahhhhhh.... noooo.... I seriously want BOTH of those... even though KOTCS was not my favorite of the series.. a Spalko would have been seriously cool..... dang.... not to mention how much of a MUST have shorty would be...

I still maintain a thread of hope that we'll see some new Indy figures - beyond all rational reason. Hell, releasing Spalko would be a great way to showcase the new female prometheus body sideshow has been harping about on and off for the last two years.

Simply magnificent. Trevor is an amazing talent.

But I have to agree that it sounds like sideshow has moved on from the 1/6 Indy line. Short Round was really the last hope, since they mentioned developing the body and the mine cart. If they aren't going forward with Shorty, then it's unlikely they'll go forward with the line.

What was keeping SSC from throwing the Shorty sculpt on a Hobbit body and calling it a day? It would have been perfectly acceptable and better than no Short Round at all.

I'm pretty sure at least one of those was a private commission, because I've seen the custom figure in person (it's awesome, of course).
