Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Love the Hobbit!!! Can't wait for the movie. Where can I find the actors list?

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Btw, I definitely want the teaser poster.

Awesome image, almost as if he is stepping through the ring.

HOLY CRAP! the trailer was awesome! :rock :rock :rock so freaking excited!

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I hope we get a lot more singing in these films.... The shot of the Dwarves cleaning Bilbo's plates has me wanting to see "That's what Bilbo Baggins hates!" on the big screen... :lol

I may enjoy this more then LOTR.

I could never get into it. They're good movies. I'm just eh to them.

But that trailer looks really nice. And I love Jackson's style.

Have you read any of the books?

I'm hoping Legolas is in this quite a bit. Such an awesome character.

He could have a substantial role in the Mirkwood scenes without departing from Tolkien's established continuity.

That's the only way I can tolerate him being in the film.

...actually, the elves of Mirkwood were at the battle of five armies, so some badass Legolas bow work would be welcomed there as well. :)

Amazing trailer, I had no idea that the Hobbit was so close to release!! It's a shame that Aragorn isn't in it, but I'm stoked that a lot of the main characters are back, especially Gandalf and Legolas :D

Although he was alive at the time, I can't conceive of any way how his character would make sense being in this film.

And Smeagol at the end was AWESOME!

:rock :rock

can never get enough of seeing this....and god knows more trailers and snippets are yet to come!!
Please let that song sung by the Dwarves be on the soundtrack ;)

:lecture

It's more of the same really, thats not a bad thing, was expecting the dwarf songs to be drinking songs not so solom

Every version of that song that I've heard has had a somber tone to it, but this one even more so, which I love.

:goodpost: The more Legolas the better (for me at least) :lol

As far as Aragorn being in the film, he would be rather young right? 10 or so? Even though he is 80 or so during LOTRs.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

IIRC Aragorn would be around 10 years old and living in Rivendell at the same time as Bilbo's stay there.

Thanks :peace

Well, I'm watching the extended version's right now (DVD) I'm gonna pick up the blu-ray box set sooner or later. Are the extras the same? Any cool things on it about the hobbit?

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I'm pretty sure the extras are the same, and maybe not even in HD.

I just got the set recently since Amazon has it for $50; just haven't had the 12 hours to watch them all on bluray :lol

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I have nothing different o add about the trailer. All I can do is agree with everyone else about how absolutely amazing it looks. There is a possibility that this movie could be better than the LOTR trilogy.

I am glad that I am likely to be pretty busy for the next year as I will need to be able to keep my mind off of it until it hits the theaters.
