Example of the transparent dome they were going to use in the film but changed it to the misty dome.

They didn't "change it" to a misty dome.

The reason it was misty is because Bolaji was constantly sweating inside the suit and the condensation would build up on the inside of the dome.

interesting info, I just picked up the CM Alien today and they did a good job with that misty/milky looking dome.

Either way, I like the idea that there is some sort of atmosphere inside the dome, kinda like it's his space helmet. I love to see the skull a bit though. A fine ballance of the two is what I'll be after with the kit version.

cool point about the idea it's a space helmet ... awesome way of thinking about what the dome was for? balance of the two would def be cool ... ampt to see what you will do with your kit ...

Looks to me like a pile of castings of the tail for this piece.

Can't wait for this one! Should have this early December if everything stays on track.

Also, I thought some of the stunt and hero suits had a black/silver wash added to the the inside of the dome to obscure the details inside. Nothing to do with breathing condensation as far as I know.

This look more like Alien than any other statue I've seen. I've owned the cinemaquette and it just didn't feel like the original ALIEN enough to me. I'd love to be able to afford this right now !.

The cinemaquette was a good piece but not a great piece imo ... always found the "swing" dance move not to my liking but the one thing that always got to me was the dome on the cinemaquette head ... has that bulge.

Yes both versions are still available from Roswell and Hobby Search.
