wow.....I can't even put in words how terrible this sculpt is. Epic fail on Hot Toys part. Who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to ship this figure like this? They don't need to be getting anymore pay checks from Hot Toys. Seriously. I wouldn't pay $100 for this figure let alone $250.

I wish I could say the same, Jose. :(

Hey dude... I understand a lot of people being heavily disappointed by this guy...
I mean, you see how much a home-run Supes is, and definitely Indy is not HT's best... still, I think it's the best Indy figure ever released to date...

As much as I like SS Indy sculpt, I had to invest lots of time and money to make him look good...
With HT's it looks very good right out of the box...

All in all, we've come a long way from this:

God after looking through pages of images of a crappy half a$$ attempt at Indiana Jones i have to go look through the Superman threads just to remind myself Hot Toys can't honestly suck this bad. This has to be a dream:horror

I agree. I've haven't seen a truly amazing representation of Indy (including customs). I think this has the most possibility straight out of the box. OMG pics highlight the possibilities taking the time and effort whereas the other pics showcase what happens without tlc. In the end to each their own :dunno

Best quality? Yes!
Authentic representation of the character? Hell no!

Ripped, smallheaded and retarded looking Indiana Jones is not what me, you or any one else deserve for $250.

Honestly, right now I think the Sideshow figure better "feels" like Indy "right out of the box," despite the relatively crummy clothing and paint apps.

Right out of the box, which one is better in your opinion?

No one.
And sadly that's the best I can say about it.
HT can do awesome stuff but while you buying their crap for a pile of funds... You know :wink1:

The proportions being so wrong in addition to the details and shapes of the actual headsculpt kills it for me. That tiny head on the big body, it reminds me of that era of Kenner Star Wars figures in 95 with the big He-man bodies. These were issues I had with it from the start and neither seem to have been addressed in any way. So I definitely won't be buying this.

They'll do another Indy because this one is terrible. I need to get out of this thread before I convince myself Hot toys sucks as a company and their stuff is complete garbage.

Don't forget the crappy body... :lecture

Not sure I follow... :dunno

:chillpill:

HT still rocks. They just got one well known character's sculpt off. If I had done this same sculpt, it would have been awesome for what I'm capable of and those who know me would congratulate it. HT has done such fantastic work, compared to that, this isn't very good. BUT, they will take their licks here, and come back next time with a spot on sculpt because they won't want to face this disappointment again. People will have to wait a while longer, but it will be worth it in the end. And, you can enjoy the multitude of other great stuff coming out soon. Not quite the end of the world.

I know you're not asking me... but I'd definitely give it to HT if just out of the box. But having said that; for $250 I can have HT which will need some extra work to get looking right (different head, jacket, boots). Or I could probably customize an entire figure for $250 and end up with a better product.

I kinda don't believe the Arnie Kim hype. IMO nothing spectacular in Lee, Superman or Indy sculpts. Some more spot on than others but my money none were grand slam bringing down the house.

Like I said earlier, HT still is the heavyweight champ of 1/6 and for good reason. The messed up on Indy, but they still have a ton of cred. They can't all be homeruns.
