Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

The S curl can become a Q curl and I'll still get the figure.

Impossible, the pics (actual images of him) were just released today! :nono

Heh, you're right.

This is the post I saw this morning (which seems like ages ago):

Well, since the cat's out of the bag about Nightwing being in the game, I don't see any harm in posting these then :D

Funny thing is, there's probably nothing I can say to convince you that I really did see it before you mentioned it.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

OK - Looking at the curl it seems pretty clear that some modifications have been made to the HS if it isn't a completely new sculpt.

SO if HT have got this perfect it again raises the question about future releases and possible DX. Why would they bother tweaking this to make it perfect. Why not just release it as is and then hit everyone up again for a better, more accurate figure.

Seeing the Russel Crowe pics makes me think the Reeve figure will be a 1 off because the new franchise is going to have a stack of figures to release - Cavill, Crowe and so on. What does everyone think? Is this likely a 1 off?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

HT CR Supes is a one-off. Gene Hackman has never allowed his likeness on merchandise so follow ups seem like a very remote possibility.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I could see them doing Zod and an "Evil Superman" on top of the inevitable Clark Kent

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Yeh, good luck getting Crowe to release his likeness too.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

it looks to me like there is articulation in the neck as well as the head and its just posed with the chin down slightly more

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'm dying for a figure of Terence Stamp as General Zod.

Would there be enough demand for a Zod? Reeve as Superman is pretty big but I'd imagine there would be a drop off in demand especially if a new Superman line of figures is coming.

Yeh, good luck getting Crowe to release his likeness too.

Wouldn't merchandising be factored into his contract?

With all these new big comic blockbusters, theres been a likeness right in the contract. Thats why they were able to Anthony Hopkins in THOR and hopefully Crow in the MOS line, we all know Hot Toys is gonna do them. Im starting to think there is a Hot Toys Clause in all these comic movie contracts LOL

No more of a drop off than those who are going nuts for Keaton Bat related offerings with a new Batman film on the horizon or those who are making Tobey Spidey requests with that one on the way. There will always be a niche for the "retro" stuff as well as the new and when it stops selling HT will drop it like a rock as they have done many times over in the past.

Hell, they do that with ____ that's white hot anyway. :lol

But what about this matty collector fig, doesn't that have his likeness?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

These are video captures of what appears to be the earlier version of the sculpt. No removable S curl here and earlier shape.

The suit here appears to be closer to the teal blue of the movie costume so lighting seems to be making a difference in the way the blue is presenting. Hopefully the final release will have this truer representation of the screen costume colour.

This may have been discussed before but the profile image shows a removable piece on the neck which may suggest there is indeed PERS on this figure.

Are you serious?

Zod? Demand?

The best Villain from the series to go with the Supes fig?

C'mon man! Supes daddy sold out pretty quick and now fetches high buck, Zod would be on another level.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I never thought the Mattel Luther looked like Hackman, they never used Hackman's name when promoting the fig.

Did they have his likeness rights? If they did they missed the mark.
